Marvel X-Men Comics Enter the “Age of Revelation” Event This October!

The X-Men line of comic books will enter the upcoming Age of Revelation come October to showcase a possible future for mutantdom.
The Age of Revelation pays homage to the iconic Age of Apocalypse saga, honoring the lore’s 30th anniversary. The major event will see a future caused by Doug Ramsey/Cypher, aka Revelation, the heir to Apocalypse.
All of the current X-Men titles will be pushed 10 years into the future. The narrative deals with Doug/Revelation being tasked by Apocalypse to create a world where only the fittest survive. Doug’s linguistic mutant power has amplified to such a degree that he’s able to command Earth itself. This leads Doug to reshape the planet into a “utopian haven” for mutants. Of course, there’s more occurring behind the scenes due to the new world being built on a lie, with humanity being wiped out until Earth becomes a mutant homeworld.
The future shows the Revelation Territories stretching from the Atlantic to the Mississippi. The so-called Utopia is ruled by Revelation. However, rebellion brews as a ragtag team of X-Men strikes from the shadows.
The hype for the event has already begun. This week saw select retailers receiving a Shadow Drop Variant of Age of Revelation Issue 0. The book is a prelude one-shot written by Jed MacKay with art by Humberto Ramos. The prelude shares how the new status quo came to be. Take note; also starting today, additional copies of the surprise issue with a wraparound cover by Ryan Stegman are now available to order.

X-Men: Age of Revelation Overtrue Issue 1 by writer Jed MacKay and artist Ryan Stegman will be up for grabs on October 1, 2025. This book serves as the Alpha issue.
The current X-Men books will be taken over to showcase the Amazing X-Men, Unbreakable X-Men, and Expatriate X-Men. The event will also impact other characters across the Marvel Comic Universe, launching the Radioactive Spider-Man, X-Vengers, and Iron and Frost.
Serving as the architect of the event, MacKay shared, “Enter… the Age of Revelation! I’m extremely excited to be at the center of this event — we’re traveling to the alien future of the Age of Revelation, where the stories unfolding in the Revelation Territories and beyond will decide whether this is the dawn of a new world, or the end of one. We’ve been exploring a whole world, and it’s been really exciting to see other creators make corners of it their own!”

More information about the upcoming titles will be revealed soon. But if I were to speculate, Iron and Frost seems to be a story featuring Tony Stark and Emma Frost. Omega Kids is an interesting title, and it might be the one where we get to learn more about Storm’s future daughter, named Furaha.
The current Storm solo series by writer Murewa Ayodele will be retitled Rogue Storm. I’m looking forward to seeing Ayodele’s take on a “future” Ororo Munroe. An emotional conundrum for Ororo could involve realizing that Furaha might never exist if the very dark Age of Revelation timeline is stopped. Ororo might have to sacrifice having a possible daughter to ensure a happier future for mutantkind. Hmmm.
The Age of Revelation era is giving me vibes of Sins of Sinister that also presented a possible future timeline. I’m intrigued.
Are you excited about the Age of Revelation? Which of the comic book titles will you be picking up?
