Latin Cowboy Farming Adventure Game “Gaucho and the Grassland” Gets Steam Release!

There are tons of farming simulation games out there. However, a title will occasionally grab my attention because it offers something a bit different in the genre. Gaucho and the Grassland is one such game.

From Brazilian game developer and publisher Epopeia Games, Gaucho and the Grassland has you play as a Latin cowboy tasked with protecting the Grasslands. The game offers the staples of similar farming adventure video games, yet everything is themed after the protagonist’s culture. Also, instead of inheriting farmland, you have been deemed its protector.

Version 1.0 of Gaucho and the Grassland is currently available on Steam for 19.99 EUR with a 15% during the first 2 weeks. You can check the game here.

The gameplay has you exploring the vast grasslands, the cozy highlands, the beach, and a magical world. Of course, you will find yourself helping locals and even mystical beings to ensure harmony in the world around you. From what I could determine from the trailer, there’s also a mini-game of some sort involving horseback racing.

Interactions with animals include lassoing cows, sheep, and oxen. Depending on the tasks, you will need to lead them around certain settings while taking care of their needs. The Farm Activities cover fishing, milking, shearing, collecting eggs, and more.

Not only will you be able to build and fix buildings, but you will also have the ability to renovate interiors (a feature that I enjoy while playing such games).

Take note; Gaucho and the Grassland won the award for ‘Best Game Pitch From Regional Associations’ at the Big Festival 2022 in São Paulo, Brazil. According to co-founder Ivan Sendin, the title has received a warm welcome. As of typing up this post, the reviews for this indie game have been very positive on Steam.

The title is planning an Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation release soon.
