“Resident Evil 9 Requiem” Launches Pre-Orders Before February 2026 Debut

Fans of the Resident Evil video game series can go ahead and pre-order the upcoming Resident Evil 9 Requiem video game before it hits shelves come February 27, 2026. To celebrate, Capcom has also released a recap video featuring the voice of Lady Dimitrescu from RE 8.
As a longtime fan of the Resident Evil games, I’m very excited about what RE 9 Requiem has in store for players. While I do have my gripes about a new story focusing on an original character named Grace Ashcroft instead of one or two of the OGs, similar to how RE 7 and RE 8 Village starred Ethan Winters, I understand that making any of the OGs the star of a horror survival installment will take away from the core of the genre. Characters like Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, and the like are OP when facing a zombie apocalypse.
There are rumors that Ada Wong and Leon Kennedy are supposed to appear in RE 9 Requiem due to it connecting back to the Raccoon City incident from RE 2 and RE 3. So, yeah, I’ll be okay with Ada and Leon appearing to assist Grace instead of taking over the narrative.
Talking about the pre-orders for RE 9, we have the Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition.
The Standard Edition only includes the Base Game. However, there’s a pre-order bonus which I’ll get to in a second.
The Deluxe Edition includes the Base Game along with an exclusive pack of costumes and weapon skins. The 5 costumes available for Grace does include one where you can dress her up like Lady Dimitrescu. I don’t know if Grace shares some kind of connection to her, but yeah, such a costume exists. The weapon skins pack gives you 4 skins to choose from. There’s also an Apocalypse Screen Filter along with ‘Letters from 1998’, an Audio Pack, and 2 Mr. Raccoon Charms.
Take note that pre-ordering any of the versions will get you a cool-looking ‘Apocalypse’ costume for Grace.

According to GameSpot, there’s going to be a Deluxe Steelbook Edition of RE 9 for the PS5, Xbox, PC, and Switch 2. The Amazon Exclusive Edition of the Standard Version includes a double-sided poster.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will be getting a Resident Evil Generation Pack, which houses RE 7, RE 8 Village, and RE 9 Requiem. There’s also a special-edition Resident Evil Switch 2 Pro Controller. Grace Ashcroft will also be getting an Amiibo sometime next summer.
The upcoming video game is about 30 years after the Raccoon City incident and follows FBI technical analyst Grace Ashcroft investigating a series of deaths at the Wrenwood Hotel. It’s the same hotel where Grace’s mother Alyssa Ashcroft (from Resident Evil Outbreak from 2003) died 8 years ago. The gameplay will allow players to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives, meaning you can choose if you want a more “horror” or “action” vibe.
You can watch the recap video as well as more footage from RE 9 in the video below.
Now, I don’t know about you, but the way voice actress Maggie Robertson stepped in front of Claire’s picture, even though such a movement wasn’t necessary, to say the words “with many more nightmares soon to come,” really has me thinking that a Resident Evil Code Veronica is inevitable, especially with all the rumores swirling around for a while.

Released back in 2000, Resident Evil Code Veronica is one of my favorite RE games. So, yeah, I’m all for it getting a remake before the dev team jumps to remaking RE 5, another one of my favorite titles.
While the fandom waits, at least we got a ninth installment in the main line releasing in a couple of months.
