Pokémon Legends ZA “Mega Dimension” DLC Ups the Ante!

The Pokémon Company is currently all in on promoting the upcoming Mega Dimension DLC release for Pokémon Legends ZA on December 10, 2025. The new content features never-seen-before Mega Evolutions and, in a complete surprise for everyone, increases the level cap for Pokémon!

Adding a bit of context, the fandom knew about the existence of the Mega Dimension DLC due to pre-orders going up for the extra content alongside the eventual release of Pokémon Legends ZA on October 16, 2025. Of course, understandably, many criticized the Pokémon Company for even having a DLC be available for pre-order before the launch of the main game, pushing the total cost to around $100 USD for a video game that doesn’t necessarily justify such a price tag considering the graphics and other gameplay mechanics. However, Pokémon Company’s gonna Pokémon Company, and the fact is that millions of people around the globe did pick up Legends ZA (and paid for the DLC pre-order) regardless of lackluster quality.

Anyway, players now know about the actual December 10, 2025, release date and what to expect other than the DLC containing Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y.

The post-game story in Mega Dimension will deal with Hyperspace coming to Lumiose City. You will be tasked with venturing via the mysterious distortions to learn more about Hperspace Lumiose. Inside the new dangerous areas you will face newly discovered Mega Evolutions as well as Pokémon that are stronger than the franchise’s staple level 100 cap.

While the increase in the level cap has got the fandom talking, I think one should be aware of the “gimmicky” nature of said increase. Apparently, Trainers will be able to increase their Pokémon levels to fight strong foes, but only for a limited time. I highly doubt the increase will exist outside Hyperspace Lumiose.

As far as new characters go, players will be aided by a girl named Ansha. A skilled baker, she creates donuts that can assist with the level cap increase. Different donuts will give you different effects. The cooking mechanic will use Hyperspace Berries for more potent effects. Ansha’s partner Hoopa is what allows you to visit Hyperspace Lumiose.

Making a return is Korrina, who wants to encounter every Mega Evolved Pokémon. Korrina was introduced in Pokémon X and Y (2013) as the Gym Leader of Shalour City’s Gym. She specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon.

The promotional trailer showcased Mega Chimcheo and Mega Baxcalibur. Take note that the Mega Stone required to own a Mega Baxcalibur will be rewarded from online Ranked Battles, which is behind a paywall.
