Simulation Game “Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures” Gets Nintendo Switch Debut This October!
Barbie fans will be able to live their Barbiecore fantasies when Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures hits the Nintendo Switch on October 27, 2023. The upcoming simulation game offers numerous fun activities involving Barbie and her friends.
Inspired by the comedic animated series of the same name, Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures is currently available for you to pre-order for $39.99 at major retailers. It has been rated E for Everyone.
The gameplay involves you being able to customize the Dreamhouse, throw pool parties, interact with Barbie’s friends and family members, cook meals, makeovers, and more. And you know what? I’m interested in doing all of that!
The cast of characters includes the sporty Renee, the science-lover Teresa, the talented DJ Daisy, fashionista Nikki, Ken, Skipper, and others, including Barbie’s parents Mr. and Mrs. Roberts.
Here’s the announcement trailer!
Judging from the trailer, while I feel the visuals could have been polished more, I do like the types of minigames that you can keep yourself busy with. It looks like you can run your babysitting center through Skipper (which makes sense with the Barbie lore). You will also need to take care of a bunch of pets.
Also, from what I could understand from the press release, the game will also include a gardening mechanic that will allow you to grow your own fruits and vegetables in the garden. The fresh ingredients can then be used during the cooking gameplay.
The overall vibe of the game focuses on calm playtime. And I do like playing such games after a hectic week. And it’s Barbie-themed. So yay!
The animated show this game is based on debuted back in May 2018. It ran for 52 episodes across 5 seasons, ending in January 2020. You watch it on Netflix.
In related news, the live-action Barbie movie has, as of writing this, surpassed $1.385 billion at the global box office.
It continues to be a great year for Barbie fans.
