I Heard A Rumor “The Umbrella Academy” Has Been Renewed For A Second Season!
According to Geek WorldWide, The Umbrella Academy has been renewed for a second season by Netflix. However, the streaming juggernaut hasn’t made an official statement yet. So, what is the truth? Well, I heard a rumor GWW is right!
Do I want The Umbrella Academy to be renewed for a second season? Of course! We are fans of this show on The Geekiary and want more of it.
Make sure to read Jamie’s review of the entire first season.
I didn’t react to the finale for nothing. I want this show to return!
According to GWW, the series will go into production later this year in Toronto. Peter Hoar will be directing the first episode. The pilot and the finale were also directed by Hoar.
When Aiden Gallagher (who plays Number 5) was asked about the renewal, he did say there hasn’t been an official announcement.
“While I have no doubts because I’ve been to the future (it sucks by the way) — no word from Netflix on a 2nd season has been given to anyone yet. When it comes they will make it loud and headline clear to all,” he tweeted.
You should all consider subscribing to his YouTube channel. He is an awesome kid.
Anyway, coming back to renewal news, the entire thing reminds me of Elite. That show was also reported to have been renewed by a publication before Netflix made an official statement.
Also, considering Disney/Marvel will be taking its content away from Netflix and so will DC Universe, I do think Netflix is in need of The Umbrella Academy to fill the superhero space.
So, I wouldn’t be surprised if the streaming giant makes an announcement about The Umbrella Academy season 2 very soon.
I want Klaus to unlock the true extent of his powers which have been showcased in the comic book series.
