My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising – Tickets On Sale For North America & UK!

Boku no Hero Academia Heroes Rising

The new anime film My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is finally coming to North America and the UK. Tickets are on sale now!

Heroes Rising is the second film in the My Hero Academia franchise. The first film, Two Heroes, was released in 2018 to generally successful box office numbers. The latest film has also been generally successful, having earned almost $15,000,000 in Japan alone in a month before opening abroad. It also has favorable reviews via IMDB (8.1/10) and Google’s user reviews (4.9/5).

Heroes Rising will hit theatres in North America and the United Kingdom on February 26th. Tickets can be purchased starting today through Funimation’s official website.

Class 1-A visits Nabu Island where they finally get to do some real hero work. The place is so peaceful that it’s more like a vacation … until they’re attacked by a villain with an unfathomable Quirk! His power is eerily familiar, and it looks like Shigaraki had a hand in the plan. But with All Might retired and citizens’ lives on the line, there’s no time for questions. Deku and his friends are the next generation of heroes, and they’re the island’s only hope.

The new film has been highly anticipated as, per an interview with director Nagasaki Kenji, the film would incorporate elements from creator Kohei Horikoshi original ending idea for the series overall.

If you poke around Japanese fandom Twitter enough, you can likely pick up on some pretty major spoilers that hint at what this major element is, but I don’t necessarily recommend going looking for this tidbit.

I caught a single glimpse of it and decided I’d much rather go into it blind. But the Japanese side of the fandom has seemed to be fairly happy with the film, so for that, I’m grateful.

The current season of My Hero Academia is streaming on Crunchyroll.
