American Gods Season One Gets October Blu-ray and DVD Release Date!

Lionsgate Home Entertainment will be releasing American Gods Season One on Digital HD, Blu-ray, and DVD this October. The home release of the popular Starz series also offers some exciting extra content!

Fans will be able to binge-watch the entire first series and enjoy extra features this October. American Gods Season One, produced by FremantleMedia North America, will be available on Digital HD on October 6, 2017. The Blu-ray (plus Digital HD) and DVD releases will follow on October, 17.

From writer-producers Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) and Michael Green (Heroes) and based on Neil Gaiman’s international best-selling novel, American Gods Season One is a visual feast focusing on an ex-convict named Shadow Moon and his sudden introduction into a power struggle between the Old and New Gods.

The first season stars Ricky Whittle (The 100), Ian McShane (John Wick: Chapter 2, Game of Thrones), Emily Browning (Sucker Punch, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events), Pablo Schreiber (13 Hours, Orange Is the New Black), Peter Stormare (John Wick: Chapter 2, Fargo), and Gillian Anderson (The X-Files, Hannibal).

Here’s the official synopsis:

When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday and a storm begins to brew. Little does Shadow know, this storm will change the course of his entire life. Left adrift by the recent, tragic death of his wife, and suddenly hired as Mr. Wednesday’s bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the center of a world that he struggles to understand. It’s a hidden world where magic is real, where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods, like Technology and Media. Mr. Wednesday seeks to build a coalition of Old Gods to defend their existence in this new America and reclaim some of the influence that they’ve lost. As Shadow travels across the country with Mr. Wednesday, he struggles to accept this new reality and his place in it.

The upcoming Blu-ray and DVD releases feature over two hours of extra content for fans to enjoy. The Blu-ray will be priced at $39.99 while the DVD will be available for $34.98.
