Pokémon Sun and Moon Starter Evolutions! Brionne is too Feminine Looking?

Brionne Pokemon Sun and Moon

The Stage 1 evolutions for the Pokémon Sun and Moon starters have been revealed! People don’t seem pleased with a feminine-looking Brionne.

A new video released by the Pokémon company shows all three evolutions in action along with other content the game will have.

The Grass/Flying-type Rowlett evolves into Dartrix. I like how the feathers on its forehead look like hair. The name of its ability is Overgrow. The Fire-type Litten evolves into Torracat. Again, it has a very cool design. I thought Litten’s evolution was going to be Fire/Dark but I guess we might get to see that during the final evolutionary stage. The name of its ability is Blaze.

The Water-Type Popplio evolves into Brionne. I went through some of online comments on the company’s YouTube page and people don’t seem happy about Brionne having a feminine look. It is strange that when both male and female gendered Pokémon have a masculine design people are okay with it. However, when both genders have a more feminine design a lot of people start to complain.

Why is a female Pokémon having a masculine design okay but a male Pokémon having a feminine design not? This is such a double standard in the gaming world.

I personally like Brionne’s design. The lacy dress that Brionne is wearing looks nice and I think the final evolution is going to have longer ears that’ll look like braids. The name of its ability is Torrent.

Pokémon Sun and Moon will also allow you to have fun with other players through the Festival Plaza. Coins can be earned by fulfilling requests that other players might have. The collected coins can be used at festival shops.

While in previous installments the collected Pokémon could be stored in PC Boxes, now they can have fun at the Poké Pelago. The Z-Ring will allow you to Mega Evolve your Pokémon. A special demo version of the game will be released on October 18th. The actual Pokémon Sun and Moon game will be released for Nintendo 3DS on November 18th, 2016.
