Fans of award-winning Genndy Tartakovsky have a new animated show to look forward to. Unicorn: Warriors Eternal will have a two-episode debut on Adult Swim come May 4, 2023, at midnight.

Unicorn: Warriors Eternal has been described as a steampunk fantasy tale that follows a team of heroes who reawaken throughout eternity to fight an ominous force. After the debut on May 4, 2023, new episodes will premiere weekly with encores on Adult Swim and Toonami. The series will roll out globally beginning in LATAM and EMEA on May 5, 2023. It has been produced by Cartoon Network Studios.

This animated show seems to be primarily set in industrial revolution London. Our team of heroes (who are called the Unicorn) gets accidentally reawakened in the bodies of teens instead of adult hosts. The heroes include the powerful sorceress Melinda, a cosmic monk named Seng, and a warrior elf named Edred.

The narrative will include the co-leads working together (their memories have been distorted, and their magical abilities have become weakened and fragmented) to unravel mysteries connected to their past and present. In their mission to defeat a timeless threat, they are aided by a steam-powered robot named Copernicus.

You can watch the exciting trailer below!

I would have liked for at least one of the heroes to reawaken in a host that had a different gender than theirs, but oh well.

Unicorn: Warriors Eternal has been created and directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (Primal, Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack), with character designs from Stephen DeStefano (Primal), music by Tyler Bates and Joanne Higginbottom, and sound effects design by Joel Valentine.

The voice cast includes Hazel Doupe as Melinda, Tom Milligan as Edred, and Demari Hunte as Seng.

This show was created in my early days at Cartoon Network Studios more than 20 years ago. All the projects we worked on—’Dexter’s Laboratory,’ ‘Samurai Jack,’ and ‘Sym-Bionic Titan’—were like a training ground getting us ready for this series. It took all of that time to finally be able to tackle a show like ‘Unicorn: Warriors Eternal,” shared Tartakovsky.

Take note; Adult Swim is expanding its hours to reach a wider audience. Adult Swim will begin at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT Monday through Saturday starting May 1, 2023.
