Who would have ever thought that Teen Titans Go! would become not only DC’s longest-running animated series, but also one of the longest-running shows of all time? Certainly not the cast, who were on hand at New York Comic Con to promote the upcoming 400th episode special, which airs on Cartoon Network in November.

The NYCC panel on Sunday, October 20, was the kickoff to a month-long event leading up to the 400th episode special on November 30. Fans who attended the panel got to see the episode more than five weeks early. As shown in the first look clip below, the episode starts off with Teen Titans Go! winning the award for “Longest Running Series” at the DC Awards, and ends up with the Titans being dropped into an alternate, stop-motion universe. As a massive fan of stop-motion animation, this episode was fantastic.

As for why they chose stop-motion animation, series creator Pete Michail said that it was, in part, because of the expense. It’s the premise of the special – that they’re sent to that universe because it’s so expensive, they’ll burn through their budget, and be canceled. But Michail figured that if ever there was a time to do it, it would be to celebrate 400 episodes.

Cast members Scott Menville (Robin), Hynden Walch (Starfire), Khary Payton (Cyborg), Tara Strong (Raven), and Greg Cipes (Beast Boy) reminisced about their favorite episodes and talked about which other characters they voiced that they would want to add to the team in the fan Q&A session at the end of the panel.

Fans can start the celebration at the beginning of November when Cartoon Network will air every episode of Teen Titans Go! ever. The takeover will feature all new custom promos and bumps. Per Animation Magazine, the celebration also includes two new mini-games in the “bespoke” Roblox experience, Cartoon Network Game On!. Both in-game activations, “Teen Titan Go! Treasure Hunt” and “Teen Titans Go! Capture the Flag”, are now live.
