‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ Shares Behind-the-Scenes Footage

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

The debut of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is almost here, and to excite fans further some behind-the-scenes footage has been released featuring the cast of the play, J.K. Rowling, director John Tiffany, and playwright Jack Thorne. Check it out!

The video has been recorded during stage rehearsals, and the excitement of the whole crew is quite obvious in it. Another thing which is quite evident from the video is J.K. Rowling wanting to keep some parts of the play secret. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, being a stage play, means that not everyone will be able to experience it at the same time and spoilers are bound to follow. Rowling also wants to surprise the audience every day. I wonder if they’ll add in something different in every show to make it a bit more unique for newcomers and as well as for the ones who come to watch it again.

“This will be such an incredible theatrical experience that I’d love us to be able to surprise people and move people in the natural way that a story should surprise and move people,” Rowling said in the video.

She also revealed the new wand designs that show Draco Malfoy and Ginny Weasley being part of the cast as well.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will debut in London on the 30th of July, 2016 at the Palace Theater. The story is set nineteen years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The play was written by Jack Thorne.

If you’re unable to attend the show, you can read the script of the play instead, which will be released on the 31st of July, just a few moments after midnight. The script will be re-released again as a ‘Definitive Collector’s Edition’ on a later date. You can get an ebook version through Pottermore.
