Indie Cozy Cleaning Game “WYRMHALL: Brush & Banter” Released on Steam

US indie game developer Leafy Games have released the cozy cleaning video game WYRMHALL: Brush and Banter on Steam/PC. The game lets you fulfill the role of a goblin tasked with cleaning magical artifacts.
As someone who has been playing fantasy video games for decades, I don’t think I have ever thought about experiencing a game where my job was to run an artifact cleaning shop. But after having seen what WYRMHALL: Bursh and Banter has to offer, I’m kind of into it.
You take on the role of a goblin who gets a job at a kiosk located in a busy marketplace. From what I could gather, the marketplace is connected to various dimensions allowing very peculiar beings to pop up with items that need to be cleaned. Sticking to the cozy vibe, you only need a mouse to start playing with it being easy to complete the game in a single sitting (approximately 2 hours).
The gameplay mechanic is in first-person with the view consisting of your workbench and a window where customers will appear. The items handed over can be rotated so you can fully examine them to determine what needs to be cleaned. Depending on the items you get, there might be certain precautions to keep in mind during the cleaning process.
The cleaning part of the game involves using different items to complete a particular task. For example, you can use a brush to get rid of dirt, a piece of cloth to wipe away marks, and a bag to extract (what I presume are) bugs.
Being perfect isn’t the goal. If you feel you have done enough, simply ring the bell and hand back the item to the customer. Apparantly, there are different endings and dialogue options depending on how good or bad of a cleaning goblin you are.
Here’s the trailer!
I like the simplistic visuals and the soundtrack. The dialogue has a lot of humor. However, the somewhat modern speech in such a fantasy setting might not be to everyone’s taste.
WYRMHALL: Brush and Banter is currently available on Steam for $11.69 CAD. That’s a 10% discount before the game goes back to the original $12.99 CAD pricing on March 14, 2025.
As for Leafy Games, the studio began in 2012, led by an experienced two brother team in Olympia, Washington. The studio is behind PULSAR: Lost Colony.
