“My Hero Academia: Vigilantes” Anime Season 2 Gets January 2026 Debut!

The second season of the highly enjoyable My Hero Academia Vigilantes anime will debut come January 5, 2026. An exciting new trailer has been released to hype up the next chapter!
If you have been following my episodic reviews of My Hero Academia Vigilantes anime season one, you would already know that I enjoyed said project a whole lot. And yes, dare I say, I enjoyed it more than My Hero Academia. Of course, I would like to make it clear that my statement doesn’t mean that MHA isn’t a fun anime, because it surely is. It’s just that I found MHA Vigilantes more engaging because it featured an older lead character and a darker tone (comparatively to the OG anime) right off the bat.
According to the press release I was sent, new episodes from Japan will stream exclusively on Crunchyroll worldwide on a weekly schedule, excluding Asia (except the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia).
Based on the manga of the same name by Hideyuki Furuhashi, Betten Court, and Kohei Horikoshi, the first season of MHA Vigilantes had 13 episodes. So, I’m assuming the upcoming second season will follow suit. However, I do hope that I’m wrong and the sophomore chapter has a couple more episodes for viewers. I want as much Koichi as I can get!
As for the opening and closing theme song artists, we have THREE performing “CATCH!!!” for the opening, while shytaupe will perform the ending theme song with “Miss you.”
Here’s the exciting trailer!
From what was shown in the trailer, I think it’s safe to assume that we will get a timeskip between the season one finale and the season debut. Koichi and Pop Step are still operating as vigilantes even without Knuckleduster around. The narrative concerning Trigger is, understandably, ongoing. Also, it looks like with Trigger continuing to be a major problem for the city, Koichi and Pop Step will be teaming up with official Heroes, which is sure to bring up an even more interesting discussion about vigilantism in a world full of people with Quirks and licensed Heroes.
The final moments of the trailer point toward a flashback featuring Eraser Head. And I’m so here for that!
Talking about the Japanese and English cast, we have it below. I haven’t read the MHA Vigilantes manga. But for those who have, the cast list with the new characters will likely be exciting, considering the roles said characters will play in the story.
- Koichi Haimawari a.k.a. The Crawler voiced by Shuichiro Umeda / Jack Broadbent
- Kazuho Haneyama a.k.a. Pop Step voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa / Macy Anne Johnson

- Tsunagu Hakamada a.k.a. Best Jeanist voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa
- Shinya Kamihara a.k.a. Edgeshot voiced by Kenta Kamakari
- Toshinori Yagi a.k.a. All Might voiced by Kenta Miyake

Like I said, I enjoyed season one of MHA Vigilantes, and I’m excited about season two coming out January 5, 2026.
