‘Naked With Niecy Nash’ Pilot Ordered By TNT For Late-Night Programming
TNT has ordered a pilot for Naked With Niecy Nash, a show with a “late-night feel” which will feature host Niecy Nash as she gives advice about romance, relationships, and more.
Niecy Nash is the star of TNT’s primetime dramedy series Claws and that’s why I’m excited to see what she will bring to Naked With Niecy Nash if the network decides to order a full series. The show will be hosted and executive produced by Nash.
Sue Murphy will also act as executive producer and showrunner. Murphy served as executive producer on Chelsea Handler’s Chelsea Lately on E! and Chelsea on Netflix. The new show is a co-production between Turner’s Studio T and Telepictures.
Nash will provide her comedic take to the show while offering advice on a number of issues including love, romance, and relationships as she interacts with everyday people.
“I’m so excited to add my voice to the late-night landscape,” said Nash. “Love is the thing we were created for but it’s also the place we struggle the most… until now! This is going to be a fun and sexy ride! TNT is the perfect partner for me in this endeavor! Adding an experienced and amazing executive producer and showrunner like Sue Murphy to this mix was the cherry on top.”
Sarah Aubrey, EVP, Original Programming, TNT, praised Nash’s (award-winning) work on Claws and added that, “Her improvisational skills, laugh-out-loud sense of humor, honesty, and thoughtfulness about the subjects of love and relationships made her book, It’s Hard to Fight Naked, a best-seller, and make Sue Murphy and Niecy Nash the perfect team to bring this type of playful show to TNT. Despite the title, Niecy will be doing the pilot fully-clothed.”
If you guys haven’t watched Claws, I recommend you do. It is an amazing series and has already been renewed for a third season. Nash is everything as Desna in Claws and I look forward to seeing what she brings to the table through Naked With Niecy Nash.
