The wait is over! Spin Master has announced that fans of the long-running Bakugan franchise can enjoy an all-new anime series debuting on Netflix (US, Canada, Australia, Nordics, and the Middle East) come September 1, 2023. The show will also air on Disney XD in the US on September 23, 2023.

The upcoming Bakugan anime features a new art style, story, and characters. The accompanying toy line also comes with yet another iteration of action-heavy gameplay.

Take note; Roblox players will have the opportunity to experience the anime four weeks ahead of the Netflix premiere. Fans can converge within All-Star Tower Defense to stream the first two episodes in both English and Japanese, starting Friday, August 4, 2023, at 4:00 pm PT / 7:00 pm PT through until Sunday, August 13, 2023.

Talking about the premise, the fictional Vestroian galaxy is made up of six planets that serve as homes to different warring species of Bakugan (Avian, Dragon, Insect, Beast, Aquatic, and Dinosaur). The use of experimental technology leads to the Bakugan being transported to Earth, crashing into cities, forests, and oceans via Baku-balls.

And while humanity has welcomed the 10-foot tall Bakugan that appear when Baku-balls unroll, things change when teenagers start pairing with Bakugan and miraculously give the Bakugan the ability to become Kaiju size!

From what I could understand, the giant Bakugan make the world fearful and things get worse when something called ‘The Catastrophe’ happens.

Our new heroic trio (who are members of the Misfit Clan) includes Dan Kouzo, Mia Ono, and Griffin Tessly. These teens pair with Dragonoid, Ventri, and Trox, respectively.

The Bakugan franchise will elevate to epic new heights as we further enhance the experience across entertainment and power up the gameplay through toys,” shared Jeremy Tucker, Spin Master’s EVP and Global Chief Marketing Officer. “We’ll deliver these new and unique experiences, driving collectability, and introducing new ways for Bakugan fans of all ages to battle and connect with the brand.”

Becoming the number one property in battling toys and playsets class in the US and Australia in Q1 2023, let’s take a look at the new brawling action being introduced in the latest toy line.

The Highlights include:

  • Bakugan Special Attack: The line includes all-new customizable Special Attack Bakugan toys. You can combine and stack the Special Attack Bakugan, and then battle with the all-new hyper spin action. Ripping the cord will make your Bakugan spin on the metal Gate Card. You can combine the character with the Special Attack Card for new stats to level up the gameplay. (SRP $9.99; Age 6+)
  • Bakugan Battle Arena: This playset features multiple launch points, obstacles, storage, and built-in camera stands to film all the action on your mobile device. (SRP $39.99; Age 6+)
  • The new Bakugan toy collection will also include Power Gear tokens found in pack form and redeemable for a digital Bakugan-themed accessory or power-up within Roblox. Fans can also spot hidden Power Gear codes within the content being shared on the official Bakugan YouTube channel.

The new Bakugan toy line will be made available at all major retailers on August 1, 2023.
