Pokémon That Are Perfect for Celebrating Pride!
In celebration of Pride Month, I decided to create a list of Pokémon that definitely look like mascots for the ever colorful LBGTQ+ community. Check it out!
Disclaimer: This post was not created to offend anyone. Some Pokémon might come across as too stereotypical to some members of the community. However, that was not my intention. The post has been created for fun and to celebrate Pride.
I know there are a lot of Pokémon that can be added to the list. Feel free to create your own and share.
The Living Rainbow
Ho-Oh is the top contender as the single Pokémon to represent the whole queer community. It is actually classified as the ‘Rainbow Pokémon’. The prismatic wings create a rainbow behind this Pokémon as it flies. It is also said that the few people who are lucky enough to see this Legendary Pokémon are promised eternal happiness.
The Bears
The LGBTQ+ community is familiar with the term ‘Bear’. Ursaring, Pangoro, and Beartic are three different kinds of bears. Pick the one you might be interested in!
The Unicorns
The mythical Unicorn is synonym with the queer community. While the Pokémon world might not have the kind of unicorns we are familiar with due to stories we heard as children, it does have some pretty cool-looking ones.
Rapidash’s body has flames coming out of it. The flames make Rapidash perfect for showing off at parades and letting others know not to take it lightly.
Contrasting the Fire-type Rapidash we have Keldeo. This Water and Fighting-type Pokémon has a single horn that changes shape when Keldeo goes into ‘Resolute’ form. Three different colored stands of hair also grow when Keldeo decides to show off its pride.
The Slay Queens!
Jynx is the perfect Pokémon that highlights drag culture in the queer community. Some might even confuse it for an actual human being. This blonde haired, bulky, pink lipped, dress-wearing Pokémon is all about finding love, and looking fabulous while doing it.
If you ever happen to come across a queer person who is confident with who they are, then I’m sure their Pokémon persona will have to be a Milotic. Just look at its magnificent design. No wonder it is considered the most beautiful Pokémon. It also has the ability to calm angry feelings and end heated arguments. A perfect power to have in the unfortunate society we live in.
The Dove of Peace
Togekiss is the Jubilee Pokémon that blends well with the overall mood of Pride. It is said to only appear in peaceful areas. People who are fortunate enough to encounter Togekiss are showered by blessings and kindness.
Are you celebrating Pride? Which Pokémon would you choose and link with the queer community? Let us know!
