“Snowpiercer” Season 4 to Run on AMC After TNT Derailment

Rejoice, Snowpiercer fans! The series will be able to air the fourth (and as of yet) final season on AMC after TNT decided to cancel it back in 2023.

The Snowpiercer situation has been quite disappointing to fans because it involved TNT not airing the fourth and final season even though the entire thing had already been filmed. Now, after a year of waiting, we finally got news that the show was able to find a new home on AMC. And while the fandom will have to wait a bit longer to enjoy the last batch of episodes, at least they get to air.

AMC has acquired the exclusive U.S. linear and streaming rights to all four seasons of Snowpiercer. This means that the first three seasons will be available to stream on AMC+ sometime later this year with season 4 premiering on AMC as well as AMC+ come early 2025.

The post-apocalyptic TV series is based on the 2013 film of the same name that starred Chris Evans and was directed by Bong Joon-ho. Similar to the film, the show follows the human survivors on the “Snowpiercer” train after the world gets engulfed in man-made deadly cold weather. The narrative focused on socio-political themes via the continuous battle between the upper and lower-class passengers.

The third season ended with the survivors having to decide if they would remain on the “Snowpiercer” or follow one of the lead characters Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) to hospitable land. The finale concluded on a cliffhanger. So, of course, the fandom’s looking forward to seeing what will happen to the ensemble cast during season four.

The series stars Daveed Diggs, Jennifer Connelly,  Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Alison Wright, and more.

I’m a fan of Snowpiercer. It has tons of twists and turns, features some well-written socio-political commentary, and doesn’t shy away from queer representation.
