“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” Debuts Six New Character Posters
I don’t know about you, but I am very excited about Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Sony Pictures has released six new character posters offering a closer look at the Spider-people featured in the film.
It is great seeing Sony Pictures shining the spotlight on Miles Morales. While we still have to wait for him to make a live-action appearance on the big screen, at least we are getting a Morales-led CG animated adventure with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which will be released in the U.S. on December 14, 2018.
The upcoming movie features many Spider-people from various dimensions. Do check out the official trailer!
Here are the six character posters!
The cast includes Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy/Spider-Gwen, Mahershala Ali as Aaron Davis/Prowler, Jake Johnson as Peter Parker, Liev Schreiber as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis, Luna Lauren Velez as Rio Morales, Lily Tomlin as May Parker, Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir, John Mulaney as Spider-Ham, and Kimiko Glenn as Peni Parker. Of course, Stan Lee will make a posthumous cameo appearance.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, from a story by Phil Lord. The studio is also responsible for bringing the Hotel Transylvania, Smurfs, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, series to the big screen.
Sony recently saw a lot of success with Venom, which recently got an impressive debut in China. The film’s current worldwide box office sits at more than $670 million against a reported production budget of $100 million. Even though the Symbrock movie wasn’t warmly greeted by critics, the audience has latched onto it and are waiting for a sequel.
Let’s see if Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will be another success for Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.
