“The Uncanny Experience” X-Men Fan Event Returns July 2025
The popular X-Men fan event The Uncanny Experience is all ready to make a major return for its third year in July 2025. It will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the X-Men Evolution animated series.
Established in 2023 and described as an “immersive celebration at Xavier Institute,” The Uncanny Experience was designed to offer the X-Men fandom a weekend filled with “mutant magic.” Attendees can connect with fellow fans, interact with engaging panels and celebrity guests, discover mutant-centric fanworks, show off their cosplay skills, attend mutant classes, enjoy rooms themed after certain mutant characters, and so much more.
The annual flagship event from Giant-Size Productions, the third year of said fan convention will be held on July 12-13, 2025, in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the historic Minneapolis Club (which will be transformed into the Xavier Institute).
In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the X-Men Evolution animated series, the upcoming event will be attended by the series’ Director and Character Designer Steven E. Gordon. As of writing this post, the voice cast in attendance includes Meghan Black (Rogue) and Maggie Blue O’Hara (Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat). More guests will be announced soon.
You can go visit the event’s official website at www.theuncannyexpeirence.com to sign-up for the newsletter and purchase the tickets.
There are three ticket levels up for grabs!

For those unfamiliar with The Uncanny Experience, I recommend reading a recap from last year. The guests included Chris Claremont, Gail Simone, Alison Sealy-Smith, George Buza, Leah Williams, and more.
The “Sophomore Year” celebrations involved the “Institute House” system where fans could choose to join either House Xavier, House Hellfire, House Morlock, or House Pryde. The House Members got to enjoy a unique pep rally (a different experience for each house) and there were a bunch of competitions to participate in. As an X-Men fan, it all sounded amazing to me!
Talking about X-Men Evolution, the animated series debuted back on November 4, 2000, and concluded on October 25, 2003. It aired a total of 52 episodes over the course of four seasons. Created by Marty Isenberg, Robert N. Skir, and David Wise, the series presented a new take on the IP by reimagining most of the X-Men as young high school students being taught by Professor X, Wolverine, and Storm.
While I enjoyed the show growing up, I still remember how I wasn’t a fan of Storm receiving limited spotlight compared to characters such as Jean Grey, Cyclops, Rogue, and many others, especially after the focus she received during the iconic X-Men The Animated Series.
Having said that, I did like how the series did away with the annoying Logan/Jean/Scott romantic drama from the OG show. The only way for me to be interested in that particular relationship situation is if it’s treated like an actual throuple. I want all three of them to get it on with each other!
But yeah, while I had some issues with that series, I know it has tons of fans. So, I’m looking forward to the fandom celebrating the show’s 25th anniversary.
Have you attended The Uncanny Experience before? Do you plan on attending this year?
