‘Fractured Mask,’ the third episode in Batman: The Telltale Series ‘The Enemy Within,’ showed Bruce getting into a lot of trouble and also featured some fun interactions with Catwoman.

I was provided a review copy by Telltale Games. The opinions are my own.

I’ve been looking forward to playing ‘Fractured Mask’ the moment episode 2 brought back Selina Kyle at the very end. I loved Selina and Bruce’s relationship in the first season. That’s why I was glad to see that The Enemy Within had tons of opportunities to make that bond grow.

The plot of ‘Fractured Mask’ involved Bruce and Selina working together to reveal Harley Quinn’s plan. Right now it looks like Harley, Bane, and Mr. Freeze are after some sort of a bioweapon. The surprising thing was that underground human experiments were being conducted by The Agency. Of course, The Agency’s involvement made me doubt Amanda Waller’s intentions but I still decided to work with her. I might change my mind later.

John Doe also had a lot of one-on-one scenes with Bruce. Interacting with John every time is a lot of fun. You know that he’s going crack and become the Joker. The anticipation of that moment is what makes everything tense but enjoyable. I have a feeling he’ll be able to figure out that Bruce is Batman if he hasn’t already.

Coming to Catwoman, I just can’t stop trusting her. I don’t care if she ends up betraying Bruce at the end of this story, I will always find ways to keep her safe. I even choose to be thrown into a cryogenic chamber to clear her name. I can’t help it! Those two are my OTP!

Tiffany also had a small role in ‘Fractured Mask,’ and I hope to see more of her as the story progresses. I revealed Batman’s true identity to her. So, maybe she’ll help create some cool gadgets for him? Batman needs a better suit if he wants to fight Bane.

As far as the gameplay is concerned, the episode tried to make up for the lack of puzzles with two fight sequences between Batman and Catwoman. I guess with the Riddler gone I shouldn’t expect any more puzzles even though I want more of them.

All in all, ‘Fractured Mask’ was about shaking Bruce’s relationships with the rest of the characters. I don’t know how much of an impact my decisions will make in the fourth episode, but I’m surely ready to see where the story goes from here.

Have you played Batman: The Telltale Series ‘The Enemy Within’ Episode 3 ‘Fractured Mask’ yet? What did you think?
