“Jurassic World: Dominion” Trailer Highlights the OG Jurassic Park Cast!
Universal has released the first official trailer for the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion (Jurassic World 3) movie. And while I’m still a bit iffy about the story, the trailer sure looks like a lot of fun!
One of the things I enjoyed about the Jurassic World: Dominion trailer is that it more or less showed everything. Dr. Ellie Sattler, Dr. Alan Grant, and Dr. Ian Malcom? Check! Feathered dinosaurs? Check! Blue becoming a freaking mother? Check!
Some might argue that the trailer showed too much, but you know what? I’m here for it. As long as it’s not a mystery or a horror film filled with twists and turns, I want movie trailers to show me everything to get me excited!
Having said that, there’s also some online speculation about how the trailer featured so much content to counter the possible decrease in ticket sales due to the negativity surrounding Chris Pratt.
So, yeah. Make of it what you will.
Anyway, Jurassic World 3 is supposed to pick up four years after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Why humans haven’t been able to kill and capture the dinosaurs that escaped at the end of the previous film in a week or two? I have no idea. The entire thing reeks of plot convenience to make dinosaurs feel like an actual threat to humankind.
That’s why I don’t have high hopes for the narrative that will be featured in the upcoming movie. However, I’m very excited about seeing the OG Jurassic Park cast again. Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum look so cool!
There’s also a fan theory about how Ellie and Alan will finally become a romantic couple again in this movie. I don’t know how to feel about that. Jurassic Park 3 showed Ellie being a married woman with two kids. Her husband Mark, an employee of the U.S. State Department, did appear to be very supportive of his wife and her continued friendship with her ex-boyfriend Alan.
If Ellie and Alan are indeed going to be a thing in JW: Dominion, even if it’s just for the sake of some fanservice, I hope Ellie’s breakup with Mark (even if it’s just a throwaway line) is treated well.

We are finally getting feathered dinosaurs! Yay!
For those interested, here’s my reaction to the trailer!
Along with the OG heroic trio and Pratt, the cast of Jurassic World: Dominion also includes BD Wong, Bryce Dallas Howard, DeWanda Wise, Omar Sy, Daniella Pineda, and more.
The film has been co-written by Colin Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael from a story by Derek Connolly and Trevorrow. It was also directed by Trevorrow. From Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment, the executive producers are Trevorrow, Steven Spielberg, and Alexandra Derbyshire executive produce. Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley serve as producers.
Jurassic World: Dominion will be released in U.S. theatres come June 10, 2022. Some of you might remember that the release date was changed from June 11, 2021, due to the pandemic.
The reported production budget is supposed to be $165 million.
Are you excited to watch Jurassic World: Dominion? Do you think Ellie and Alan should get back together again?
