Dragon Ball Daima anime episode 19, titled ‘Betrayal’, revealed Glorio’s wish as our heroes got back into the ring to defeat Gomah.

With Glorio betraying Dr Arinsu by not stating her wish to Porunga in the previous episode, I think the fandom knew that Glorio’s wish was going to be about returning the Z-Warriors to their original size. And that’s exactly what Porunga did in ‘Betrayal’ as a shocked Dr Arinsu watched everything unfold.

Due to Glorio working for Dr Arinsu since the beginning, I was interested in seeing how the Z-Warriors would react after learning about his past. However, the writers didn’t spend a lot of time on the emotional aspect of finding out someone you trusted had been in cahoots with the enemy. I understand the writers not wanting to drag the pacing so close to the end of the series, but I would still have liked to learn more about why Glorio agreed to do Dr Arinsu’s bidding in the first place. Apparently, she helped him get out of the Third Demon World. But that doesn’t sound like much of a favor because we don’t know what kind of life Glorio lived before Dr Arinsu extended a helping hand.

As far as the Z-Warriors were concerned, Glorio using the Dragon Balls to wish them back to their adult forms more than made up for his connection to Dr Arinsu. Even she wasn’t mad about Glorio’s betrayal, opting to simply fire him as well as telling him to leave her sight. I think such a reaction could be chalked up to Dr Arinsu being sensible about the entire situation and accepting the fact that the adult Z-Warriors were her best bet to defeat the OP Gomah.

Having returned to normal, Vegeta stepped in to fight Gomah solo. I mean, I knew the Saiyan Prince wasn’t going to be the one to land the final blow to such a villain, but I was still excited to see Vegeta go Super Saiyan 3 in adult form and he sure did. Considering the wish didn’t completely restore their stamina, Vegeta still managed to put up an exciting brawl against Gomah. Staying true to his character, Vegeta wasn’t going to give up even when he exhausted back to his base form.

I liked how analytical Goku and Piccolo were while watching Vegeta vs Gomah. They could tell the Third Eye was continuously restoring Gomah’s stamina. The towering demon wasn’t showing any signs of exhaustion even after clearly being hurt by Vegeta’s blows. The Third Eye was instantly healing Gomah, too. Even Goku jumping in to assist Vegeta wasn’t going to change the tide of the battle.

Dr Arinsu was also worried about the Third Eye. The magical item needed to be separated from Gomah ASAP. According to her, the previous user could detach the eye at will. Dr Arinsu just needed to figure out how to force said detachment. I liked how Kuu used his intellect to help Dr Arinsu find the required page from a thick book of spells. It’s revealed that the Third Eye could be separated from the user if you managed to hit the person three times on the back of their head.

Though they had the answer to their problem, it wasn’t going to be an easy task to accomplish. Gomah was too powerful to allow them an opening to hit the back of his head once let alone three times. But of course, Goku was going to try. I wasn’t expecting him to ask Piccolo for help, but I’m so here for one of my favorite Dragon Ball characters being allowed to play a role during the final fight.

Bulma telling Vegeta she would never share a bath with him ever again if he didn’t put his ego aside and allowed Goku to fight Gomah was funny as heck. I really enjoy their dynamic as a married couple.

The major moment in ‘Betrayal’ was Goku showing off his Super Saiyan forms to Gomah before tapping into his Super Saiyan 4 transformation to everyone’s surprise. So, yeah, an Adult Goku Super Saiyan 4 action figure, fashioned after this anime, will surely be available soon.

From my understanding, even Super Saiyan 4 Adult Goku won’t be powerful enough to defeat Gomah unless the Z-Warriors manage to take away the Third Eye. Like, damn, that’s an immensely OP magical artifact in Dragon Ball lore. I’m looking forward to seeing how they accomplish hitting the back of Gomah’s head thrice.
