Marv Wolfman’s 12-Part Series ‘Raven: Daughter of Darkness’ Set For January 2018!

The co-creator of DC Comics’ Raven, Marv Wolfman is ready to offer another Raven-centric adventure for her fans with a new 12-part series Raven: Daughter of Darkness in January 2018.

When it comes to fictional characters, Rachel Roth is one of my all-time favorites. I got to know about her through the Teen Titans animated series, and I’m very excited for her new solo-series Raven: Daughter of Darkness.

The 12-part series will debut on January 10, 2018. It is a continuation of 2016’s Raven, the miniseries from Marv Wolfman that showed Rachel taking a break from the Teen Titans and going to meet her maternal aunt. Of course, trouble followed the young hero in the form of an indestructible alien entity that preyed on human souls.

According to the official description, Rachel’s mother returns and that understandably causes family drama. Rachel’s Aunt Alice is very religious so you can tell that having her sister return, who gave birth to the devil’s child, will require time to get used to.

The upcoming series will also feature Night Force’s sorcerer Baron Winters. The team was introduced back in 1982 and its job is to handle supernatural threats.

“It’s been a while since we’ve seen the not-always-noble leader of Night Force, but Daughter of Darkness will bring him back as someone who will have to intercede on Raven’s behalf,” said DC’s Tim Beedle. “But should she trust him?”

Wolfman will be teaming up with artist Pop Mhan for the new series. The two previously worked together on DC Universe Online Legends.

In this all-new miniseries, Raven faces a new, otherworldly menace that is all too grounded in reality. Plus, Raven’s personal life is in an uproar as her mother and aunt struggle for the soul of a Titan! It’s up to Baron Winters of the Night Force to intercede on her behalf as she embarks on the adventure called “The Girls With the Anime Eyes”!

Rated T, issue 1 will have 32 pages and will retail for $3.99 US.

Rachel currently stars in the Teen Titas comic book series. However, the series still hasn’t given us a Raven-centric arc yet.
