“Pokemon Masters” Is So Boring the Producer Apologized
I was very excited to play Pokemon Masters, but I quickly lost interest after going through it for a couple of hours. It turns out I wasn’t the only one. Numerous players have complained about how this mobile gaming title is boring. Producer Yu Sasaki even issued a public apology, so you can tell the developing team realizes they missed the mark with this one.
If some of you were wondering why I didn’t write a Pokemon Masters review for The Geekiary, well, it was because I found it so boring that it didn’t even warrant a review from my side. The major complaints are about the game’s lack of content, as well as poor battle design.
In his public apology, Yu Sasaki tried to address all of the issues. He also promised that the team is working on fixing the problems.
I’m actually very interested in knowing what kind of beta testing they did for this game. Did the focus group not share their opinions about Pokemon Masters, quite possibly, being one of the worst (recent) Pokemon titles to exist?
Anyway, the apology (from Sasaki and new producer Tetsuya Iguchi) shared, “We’re disappointed we did not meet the expectations of our community, and for this, we sincerely apologize.”
The producers added, “It’s our intention that this does not happen again. Hearing these opinions from fellow Trainers has deepened our sense of commitment to deliver a game we can call be proud of. Both the development and operations teams are fully committed to improving this game and creating a memorable experience for all fans to enjoy.”
Apparently, the team will work on adding more content as well as bring forth a better rewards system.
I hope the team is able to fix stuff because, as of now, there’s a lot that doesn’t work. The battles are very unbalanced, and even if you spend hours grinding, the rewards aren’t satisfactory. Also, even though I’m able to have Misty in my team, the battles are simply uninteresting, as far as my opinion is concerned.
