Fans of the Resident Evil 4 remake will finally be able to play the Ada Wong-starring DLC titled ‘Separate Ways’ when it becomes available come September 21, 2023.

With the highly-anticipated Resident Evil 4 remake releasing on March 24, 2023, fans were wondering about the DLC that allowed players to control Ada Wong and complete a mission that connected to Leon Kennedy’s mission in the main game. The original Resident Evil 4 (2005) included the extra content for free. But, considering the times we are in, of course ‘Separate Ways’ is being released as it’s own thing.

Even though I want the upcoming DLC to be free, the chances of Capcom doing that are close to non-existent. As of writing this article, I did check some of the online store pages but was unable to see the DLC being listed. So, I have no idea about the price tag.

Anyway, coming to the premise of ‘Separate Ways’, it features a mission that has the iconic spy Ada Wong traveling to an infected rural village in Spain. While she has a certain objective to complete for Albert Wesker, Ada can’t help but lend a helping hand to her (let’s be honest here) boyfriend Leon and have a change of heart as the story progresses.

The Resident Evil 4 remake changed a bunch of stuff from the original narrative and gameplay elements. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if some content is changed in the ‘Separate Ways’ DLC as well.

Along with the upcoming DLC, the reveal trailer also shared details about a VR mode for PSVR 2 being released and extra content for the Resident Evil 4 remake’s ‘Mercenaries Mode’. Ada and Wesker are being added to the Mercenaries Mode for free on September 21, 2023.

Take note; the VR mode will be released sometime this winter.

Here’s the trailer!

Even though the Resident Evil 4 remake was met with critical acclaim, I have to say that I missed the campiness of the original. Ada’s just so serious in the remake.

The remake was able to sell more than 3 million units in the first two days of release. By July 2023, it had sold more than five million units. That’s quite impressive considering how beloved the original continues to be by the fandom. The creative team did a good job modernizing an old title while keeping true to why the original was a hit.
