I’m so glad the upcoming series has made use of puppets and animatronics instead of going all CGI. Such a decision has allowed the series to keep the original movie’s look and nostalgia. Also, I think, people who haven’t watched the 1982 film might be interested in checking out this series because of how amazing it looks and the stellar voice cast it boasts.
Taron Egerton is Rian, Anya Taylor-Joy is Brea, and Nathalie Emmanuel is Deet. The cast also features Mark Hamill, Helena Bonham Carter, Natalie Dormer, Eddie Izzard, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Simon Pegg, Andy Samberg, Mark Strong, Alicia Vikander, Toby Jones, Shazad Latif, Theo James, Caitriona Balfe, Jason Isaacs, and Keegan-Michael Key.
Produced by The Jim Henson Company, the first season has been directed by Louis Leterrier. The Executive Producers are Lisa Henson, Louis Leterrier, and Halle Stanford. Jeffrey Addiss & Will Matthews, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, and Blanca Lista serve as Co-Executive Producers with the Producer being Ritamarie Peruggi.
The 10-episodes will be 1-hour long (each).
