It has been announced that Behaviour Interactive will be teaming up with Titan Comics for the first Dead by Daylight comic book. The debut is currently scheduled for March 2023.
The upcoming Dead by Daylight comic will be written by Harvey Award winner Nadia Shammas (Squire, Where Black Stars Rise), with art by Dillon Snook (Bluefall). The comic book is ready to introduce readers to The Legion.
For those who might not know, The Legion are Killers in the DbD game. Comprised of a close-knit group of four troubled teenagers including high school dropout Frank, small-town girl Julie, practical joker Joey, and the shy and naive Susie, the narrative will dive into The Legion’s relationship as the characters navigate the darkness within themselves and the world around them.
“Comic books hold a special place in my heart as with many people on the team. What an awesome time for Dead by Daylight, appearing in this format for the first time. The Legion is quite an interesting set of characters. They are great to dig into since they embody the very universal themes of teen angst, rage, and revenge,” shared Mathieu Côté, Head of Partnerships for Behaviour Interactive. “Seeing our stories and characters coming to life on the page is a wonderful feeling and we hope our fans will appreciate it as much as we do. Stay tuned!”
As a fan of the DbD game, I’m looking forward to checking out the comic book debut. I’m glad to see the IP growing over the years. Initially released back in 2016, the game has made a mark for itself when it comes to 4v1 horror-survival games.
Even though the fanbase is familiar with The Legion, I have my fingers crossed that the upcoming comic book series offers an interesting look into their individual backstories while also expanding on the DnD lore. I do wonder if familiar Survivors will show up.
“The Legion are the perfect Killers to kick off the Dead by Daylight comics. The group is an innately recognizable and pervasive evil, which can be much scarier than the gory or grotesque. Nadia and Dillon give a real nuance to The Legion’s descent into darkness,” said Titan Comics Editor, Phoebe Hedges. “It’s so exciting to be bringing Dead by Daylight to the comic page. We’re truly bringing the tension from the game and turning it into a thrilling story.”
Dead By Daylight Issue #1 will be available in comic shops and digital devices come March 2023.
