Disney+ MCU Teams Celebrate ‘The Falcon and Winter Soldier’ Eve

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

It’s the eve of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and other Disney+ MCU teams are sending their best wishes to the new show.

All the well wishes for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier team came as part of the series launch event from this morning, which has hyped the fandom up as the hours count down to the premiere. It certainly did its job and gave the broader MCU fandom a bunch of new content to talk about for all four shows scheduled for 2021.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier comes right on the heals of WandaVision, which had its incredible finale just two short weeks ago. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany offered up their best wishes to the new show while trying to remain as spoiler-free as possible for those that haven’t caught up.

I miss WandaVision so much, and it’s only been two weeks. I hope we get more of them… somehow. But Bettany has a point that it’s pretty hard, given how things went in the finale. But it’s not impossible.

Up next was the team-up of Loki – Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson. This bit of well wishes also came with a premiere date – June 11th – and a brand new poster.

Loki

Unlike Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen, who called into the event via Zoom likely due to social distancing measures, the team up from Loki got to be in person as they’ve been filming and quarantining together so they got to share the stage together. The little glimpse at the type of chemistry the two will have in the show is pretty fun to see. Seems like there will be a bit more of a gap between these two shows so we’ll have some downtime at the end of spring and beginning of summer, but I still feel pretty blessed to be getting all this content!

Last but not least, we got a glimpse from Hawkeye.

Hailee Steinfeld and Jeremy Renner are both still neck-deep in filming Hawkeye, as is evident by all the make-up effects on them during their segment. Their filming has been particularly impacted by the pandemic as they started shooting footage in December in New York City. It’s slated for a ‘late 2021’ release date, which felt overly optimistic when we were in the thick of the pandemic, but at this point, it feels like it can actually happen.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s first episode will be released on Disney+ at midnight Pacific Time tonight. For a lot of you, this means you’ll be watching it sometime tomorrow after you wake up and go about your day. But if I’ve learned anything from WandaVision, a huge contingent of MCU fandom will be staying up late to watch it the moment it’s available. And Disney+ will probably crash, but that’s okay. We’ve committed to losing sleep already, so what’s a few minutes of frantic refreshing while Disney+ gets its act together, eh?

See y’all tonight, guys!
