Disney Releases New Live-Action ‘Beauty and the Beast’ Teaser Trailer
Who knew that we when woke up this morning and logged onto our devices that we would get so lucky as to see the new teaser trailer for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast? Definitely not me, and although the trailer is short, we got our first glimpse at Beast’s castle and Emma Watson as Belle.
The trailer does not really reveal much except for the incredible setting and art direction for the film, and it is going to be dark…and frozen. We also got a nice reveal that it appears the live-action version will have the same great music as the animated 1991 version. This is great news for fans of the iconic score and lyrics.
The highlight of the trailer (at least for me and probably millions of others who were fangirling by the end) was that glimpse of Emma Watson as Belle, curiously looking on to the Beast’s enchanted rose. I am pretty sure that Disney nailed this casting, so getting that first snippet of her was super exciting. In addition to Watson, the film will star Dan Stevens (Downton Abbey) as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as LeFou, and other all-stars including Kevin Kline, Emma Thompson, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Audra McDonald, and Ian McKellan. Basically, this is going to be the best.
Belle has been a favorite Disney princess of mine since the animated film was released. She is brave, bold, smart, and loves books. Who else is irrationally excited to see that library in the Beast’s castle? I am also excited to see the recreation of “Be Our Guest” and how they pull that one off as live-action.
Here is the trailer in all its glory.
The film is to be directed by Bill Condon and is scheduled for release on March 17, 2017. So close, yet so far away.
