Dragon Ball Daima episode 12, titled ‘True Strength’, showed a lot of power across the board as Majinn Duu and Vegeta continued to fight their respective Tamagami.

With how things went sideways for Vegeta in the previous episode while facing off against the Second Tamagami, I was kind of worried that ‘True Strength’ would be about him dealing with failure and asking the Second Tamagami for a rematch. However, that didn’t happen, and the story progressed at an enjoyable pace. Yes, Vegeta was thrown into the ocean and was attacked by the Kraken. But not only was he able to resolve that particular threat, he also tapped into a new power level to defeat his foe.

It was nice to see Vegeta realizing he had to get serious during the current encounter, and he finally unleashed his Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 2 forms. I think it was made clear that Vegeta was more than a match for the Second Tamagami if Neva hadn’t decided to give the Tamagami a power-up during their battle. Neva mentioned he bestowed the power up to his creation midbattle as a favor to Vegeta because he was told Saiyans enjoyed brawling. However, I’m still side-eyeing Neva’s true intentions and how much power he truly has.

With the Tamagami growing stronger and being troublesome for Vegeta even in his Super Saiyan 2 form, our Saiyan Prince decided to do something the fandom’s been waiting decades to witness. So, yeah, Vegeta Super Saiyan 3 is now officially canon!

Even though seeing the form for the first time on Kid Vegeta did have a comedic effect, I have to say that as a fan of Dragon Ball I couldn’t help but smile through the remainder of the fight and even felt a bit proud. Vegeta’s worked very hard, and I’m all here for him unlocking his Super Saiyan 3 form.

The difference between the two levels was quite transparent. Once achieving his latest form, Vegeta was more or less capable of toying with the Second Tamagami; and that’s exactly what he did, forcing the Second Tamagami to realize the unwinnable situation and concede. Also, I could be wrong, but I think this is the first fight in canon where a character has won a match while using the Super Saiyan 3 form. Now, hopefully, we will get to see Vegeta tap into this form again but as an adult.

Winning the fight didn’t mean the Second Dragon Ball was going to be simply handed to Vegeta. Nopes. Vegeta was required to answer a mathematical riddle that was similar to the usual questions about a person having a specific number of apples and how many apples they would be left with after certain events. Frankly, I was worried about Vegeta at that moment. He’s not the smartest cookie when it comes to the Z-Warriors. I mean, he’s definitely better than Goku, but not really smart.

However, Vegeta tried to keep his cool during the riddle (as much as you would expect someone like him to remain calm) and answered the riddle correctly because it was more of a trick question than an actual equation that needed to be solved.

So, yay to the Z-Warriors receiving the Second Dragon Ball and ready to head to the First Demon Realm.

What they didn’t know was that Majin Duu had defeated the First Tamagami and possessed the First Dragon Ball. So, apparently, the Majin brothers and the Z-Warriors will need to fight each other to collect all three Dragon Balls. Majin Duu was shown to be capable of defeating the First Tamagami on his own thanks to his power and elastic body. Taking him down will require some work.

As for Majin Duu being able to answer the First Tamagami’s riddle (which was an actual mathematical equation), Majin Kuu helped his sibling cheat by giving Majin Duu the correct answer. Again, due to Majin Duu’s strength and Majin Kuu’s intellect, those two need to fuse soon.

Having witnessed all of this via their magical screens, King Gomah and Degesu were understandably worried. So, I’m looking forward to seeing what they plan to do about it. I want Degesu to talk to Dr. Arinsu about her plans. He even tried to justify her actions to King Gomah. But we know Dr. Arinsu wants King Gomah gone.
