Frozen 2 Official Trailer Breakdown: What’s North of Arendelle?
With the release of the official trailer for Frozen 2, Disney continues to keep details about the plot a secret. As far as I can tell, the upcoming Elsa-centered sequel is going to turn this franchise into an open-world fantasy RPG and I’m here for it!
Frozen 2 seems to have a darker tone than the 2013 original movie. Something is happening to Elsa and everyone is worried about her.
The Queen of Arendelle along with Anna, Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven, are sent on a journey North of the Kingdom to hopefully find answers.
Here’s the beautiful trailer!
The official trailer features similar scenes from the teaser trailer. We see Elsa trying to get through huge waves. Once submerged, she sees a horse-like water spirit called a Nokk. According to Disney, the creature guards a forest by using the power of the ocean.
The trolls from the first movie reappear to talk about whether or not Elsa’s powers are too much for this world. There seem to be three stone giants involved in this story, too. The plot, as far as I can tell, deals with learning the truth about the past and how it’s connected to Elsa’s powers.
Here is my trailer reaction and breakdown!
There are fan theories about this franchise introducing more individuals having power over different seasons. With Elsa being winter, according to theories, there have to be three other people who control the rest of the seasons.
The diamonds shown in the official trailer do offer some support to such fan theories. I don’t know about you, but the design of the diamonds (at least to me) correspond to the four seasons.
Elsa’s latest adventure has an open-world fantasy RPG vibe to it. I hope Disney decides to release an RPG to promote this animated film.
Frozen 2 will be released on November 22, 2019.
