Fandom Cares ‘Project Black Lives Matter’ Silent Auction

Everyone is trying to do what they can to support the Black Lives Matter movement. Whether it’s through being vocal on social media, getting educated on the matter, or offering your talents to raise money, it’s amazing to see everyone come together for a single – and HIGHLY important – cause. The ‘Project Black Lives Matter’ Silent Auction by Fandom Cares is another way you can make a difference!

For those who aren’t familiar, Fandom Cares (official Tumblr page) is a fan-run project that aims to help people in the Teen Wolf and Sterek fandoms with necessary resources and temporary financial aid. The talented creators in the fandom volunteer their time and skill to benefit those in need.

Seeing Fandom Cares come together to support the Black Lives Matter movement is just amazing. Here’s what the fan-run organization had to say:

In a time of civil unrest, black Americans are among the most vulnerable of our population. This past weekend showed that we’ve had enough and are ready to start protesting on our own terms and effecting change. This kind of change has been met with resistance and as such, has caused several protesters to be arrested, or injured.

Several artists and writers expressed their desire to help. While they may not be able to donate outright, they are willing to offer one or two commissions to auction.

A percentage of the profits will be split equally among the bail funds for several cities and other charities related to the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

Our very own StickyKeys is doing her part to help manage the current silent auction and we at The Geekiary couldn’t be prouder or more appreciative of her continuous efforts.

According to Fandom Cares, “A percentage of the profits will be split equally among the bail funds for several cities and other charities related to the #BlackLivesMatter movement.”

The list of organizations where Fandom Cares will be splitting proceeds includes the Minnesota Freedom Fund, Act Blue – George Floyd Bail Funds, Black Visions Donations, BlackLiveMatter CA, NAACP, and many more.

Make sure to read the list of all the volunteering creators.

The things you can bid on during the auction include GIF sets, fanfics, and more!

The ‘Project Black Lives Matter’ silent auction is currently active and will go until 12:00 am PST (-5) on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.

Go check it out and offer your support!
