Is Cartoon Network Wiping the Ben 10 We Know with a Reboot?
I’m a fan of Ben 10. It’s a show that gave the world an amazing female character, Gwen Tennyson, and also taught me the concept behind parallel universes and time travel. While Ben 10: Omniverse saw the series travel a new path with an older Ben Tennyson and his new partner in crime-fighting, Cartoon Network seems to want the younger version of the hero back!
While the most recent series, Ben 10: Omniverse, gave Ben a new partner and had its enjoyable moments, I ended up missing the original team – which included Gwen, Kevin and even Grandpa Max. The finale of Omniverse showed the writers bringing the young heroes together, and that’s why I was excited for the franchise to return with another series. But I guess one can’t have everything, especially when it comes to new seasons of a favorite TV show.
According to CBR, Ben 10 will return to Cartoon Network, but it will be a reboot of the series and not a sequel to Omniverse. The Chief Content Officer of Cartoon Network wants to introduce Ben to a new generation of kids.
While I’m glad the franchise isn’t dead, it saddens me that we will be going back to the start rather than continuing with older versions of the characters and seeing them grow as fictional beings. The good news is that the Ben 10 universe is full of parallel worlds so there’s a possibility that the events that occurred in the Ben 10 series we grew up with still exist. Who knows? The reboot version of Ben 10 characters might end up meeting the ones we stuck with for years!
The new Ben 10 series will air sometime in 2016 on Cartoon Network.
What do you think of Ben 10 getting such a reboot? Are you happy or do you think Cartoon Network likes destroying our childhood? Let us know!

I honestly say I don’t like the idea. I would like to watch an Omniverse’s sequel! To reboot this series is like destroying my childhood…
I love Gwen, Kev, and Grandpa Max,
and also Rook, Pakmar, and so on!
It’s like I’ve always watched Ben’s improvement, both mentally and physically, then it turns back to zero again…
Same here…even if the sequels weren’t always perfect I liked seeing Ben and the other’s grow as characters and was actually hoping we would see him in his early 20’s too…but now going back just doesn’t feel right to me…sigh!
