Mon-El Fights Cyborg Superman in New “Medusa” Clip – The “Invasion” Crossover Starts This Monday!
A new preview from Monday’s episode of Supergirl shows Mon-El fighting Cyborg Superman. The episode, called “Medusa”, will serve as a starting point for the “Invasion” crossover event.
“Medusa” is a Thanksgiving-themed episode. It will be the season’s midseason finale as well as a prelude for “Invasion”. The CW’s upcoming mega crossover event also includes Arrow, The Flash, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.
Check out the preview!
In the clip, Mon-El thinks he has seen J’onn J’onzz but meets Cyborg Superman instead. While the two duke it out, a deadly gas is released inside the Alien Bar. I think it is CADMUS’ alien-killing virus.
Here’s the synopsis for “Medusa”:
Eliza (guest star Helen Slater) comes to town to celebrate Thanksgiving with her daughters. Alex (Chyler Leigh) decides it’s time to come out to her mother. Kara (Melissa Benoist) is shocked when Eliza suggests Mon-El (Chris Wood) has feelings for her. And Winn (Jeremy Jordan) and James (Mehcad Brooks) consider telling Kara the truth about the Guardian. Meanwhile, CADMUS unleashes a virus that instantly kills any alien in the vicinity. So, Kara enlists an unexpected ally – Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath). The epic superhero crossover kicks off tonight when Barry Allen (guest star Grant Gustin) and Cisco Ramon (guest star Carlos Valdes) seek Kara’s help with an alien invasion on their Earth.
I’m excited to see Kara asking for Lena Luthor’s help. I wonder how their relationship will move on from here. Furthermore, Barry and Cisco visiting Kara’s dimension sounds awesome. They need a heavy-hitter on the team and Kara’s their best option. Sure, the rest of the heroes are powerful, but Kara’s freaking Supergirl! I wanted Superman to be part of the crossover too. (Yes, it is because Tyler Hoechlin was amazing in the role.) Maybe we’ll see him in future crossovers? Fingers crossed!
“Invasion” revolves around heroes battling an alien invasion. These aliens are called the Dominators and they see metahumans as a threat. In the comics, they also want to create their own metahuman army and there is a Gene Bomb involved. I’m not sure how much of the comic’s plot we’ll see in the TV show event. Will it mark the debut of more metahumans on Earth? I guess we’ll find out this Monday.
