Developer OPTILLUSION has released the trailer for the award-winning puzzle game Moncage. And I’m very intrigued.
According to the press release that we got, Moncage has been described as a “vignette puzzle adventure”. I’m not really sure what means, but I’m open to experiencing what it will offer. The upcoming game will be published by X.D. Network.
Moncage will be combining “unique gameplay through optical illusions and vignette puzzles.” Players will get to solve 60 puzzles and explore 50 worlds. This indie game has already garnered a lot of positive response, including a “1st Place: Best Gameplay” award from the Intel University Showcase, and an official selection for the PAX Indie Mega Booth showcase.
Having seen the trailer, I can see why it received so much praise.
I haven’t played such a game before. It looks very exciting!
“We are extremely excited to be working with OPTILLUSION to publish Moncage,” said X.D. Network VP, Brandy Wu. “We knew the developers were special the moment we met them. They not only had an unique vision for this game but also the amazing talent bring that vision to life.”
The Key Features Include:
- Blending cube faces to produce unique effects: This game presents a multidimensional world, with lighthouses, factories, and harbors all contained in the cube. Different spaces have different effects, all combining to form a tactile, therapeutic experience.
- Across dimensions: Rotate the cube to see different perspectives and leverage illusions to discover hidden links. Piece the puzzles together and experience miraculous visual effects.
- Revealing the truth: Space and spaces are closely linked, and the fragmented narrative method makes the hidden details more intriguing. Players can discover the truth hidden deep within the story.
You can go ahead and wishlist Moncage right now on Steam. The title plans to be released on PC, Switch, and mobile devices.
As for OPTILLUSION, it’s a small indie game studio based in New York. Moncage is the developer’s first title.
