The second episode of Claws Season 3, titled ‘Muscle & Flow,’ revealed a bit more about the Lovestones. It will be interesting to see how Desna is able to handle the crazy level while keeping her crew safe.

I was provided a free screener of ‘Muscle & Flow’ for review. The opinions are my own.

‘Muscle & Flow’ opened with Desna winning the ownership of her salon from an auction. The gang is back in its natural habitat. However, they have bigger fish to fry.

Desna wants to be involved in the casino as much as possible, but the Lovestones aren’t willing to have her snoop around. I liked how the Lovestones tried to keep Desna and her crew busy so the women didn’t find out what the crazy married couple was really doing. But it didn’t work, and of course, Desna had to interfere in their plans.

Turns out, Mac and Melba are working with a governor nicknamed Trip. He’s also the person Ann’s brother is running against. I’m ready to see Ann’s brother again! Anyway, as far as Desna can tell, Trip is secretly getting money from the Lovestones for a mysterious project. A woman named Penelope is involved, too. Apparently, she’s carrying Trip’s child. The plot’s a mess, but it’s the enjoyable kind.

With Penelope’s death at the end of ‘Muscle & Flow,’ you can tell the Lovestones will do anything to remain in power. Here’s to hoping Desna has a plan to take them down while keeping her entire crew safe.

As for the rest of the characters, Uncle Daddy finally decided to tell the truth about the death of Roller’s parents. It was a story of domestic abuse. However, I don’t trust Uncle Daddy. He came across as an unreliable narrator to me.

Jenn got a visit from her ex-boyfriend and the father of her daughter Brienne. Jenn’s conflicted feelings regarding her mixed-race daughter made sense. As a white mother, Jenn has kept Brienne away from her colored heritage. She can’t give the little girl what her father’s side of the family can. There’s a whole lot of drama involved in Jenn’s situation. I just hope Jenn doesn’t lose custody of Brienne.

Some thoughts and questions:

  • I’m still not here for Roller and Desna becoming a couple. He needs to take some time to address all of the emotions he’s going through.
  • How long will Virginia continue to share sage advice?
  • Are Polly and Joe going to be a thing? I hope not.
