Fans of the long-running The Swan Princess animated franchise can look forward to owning all 12 movies (as of now) in the series come December 3, 2024. Courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, the upcoming gift set includes a limited edition musical jewelry box.

Released back in 1994, The Swan Princess is an animated movie based on the ballet Swan Lake. It was directed by Richard Rich from a screenplay by Brian Nissen. The 2D traditionally drawn musical was about young Princess Odette and Prince Derek being encouraged to fall in love by their parents as a way to unite the two kingdoms by marrying them down the line. However, issues arose with one major problem being Odette being kidnapped by the evil shape-shifting sorcerer Rothbart.

Rothbart’s spell causes Odette to turn into a swan during the day. She can change into her human form at night if she stands in the lake illuminated by moonlight. Of course, Derek goes to search for Odette, but that’s easier said than done.

I can’t count how many times I watched The Swan Lake while growing up. And considering it being released in 1994, Odette’s quite proactive when it comes to escaping from Rothbart’s clutches.

The original was followed by 11 more movies, with the most recent one The Swan Princess: Far Longer than Forever being released in September 2023.

The Swan Princess: 12 Movie Collection DVD gift set brings all 12 installments to fans via one product along with a pretty musical box-themed jewelry after the movie.

The 12 movies include:

  1. The Swan Princess (1994)
  2. The Swan Princess: Escape from Castle Mountain (1997) – Odette and Derek’s 1-year wedding anniversary is disrupted by the wizard Calvius.
  3. The Swan Princess III: The Mystery of the Enchanted Treasure (1998) – The sorceress Zelda causes problems.
  4. The Swan Princess: Christmas (2012) – Odette and Derek celebrate Christmas together. However, Rothbart returns. This is the first installment to be created entirely with 3D CG animation.
  5. The Swan Princess: A Royal Family Tale (2014) – Odette and Derek adopt a young girl named Alise.
  6. The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today! (2016) – Alise goes on an overseas adventure.
  7. The Swan Princess: Royally Undercover (2017) – Alise goes on a secret spy adventure.
  8. The Swan Princess: A Royal Myztery (2018) – Odette and her friends investigate the mystery surrounding “Z”.
  9. The Swan Princess: Kingdom of Music (2019) – Odette hosts a musical competition for Alise’s birthday. This film celebrates the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
  10. The Swan Princess: A Royal Wedding (2020) – Odette and Derek attend the wedding of Princess Mei Li and her beloved Chen.
  11. The Swan Princess: A Fairytale is Born (2023) – It’s time for Odette and Derek to be crowned King and Queen. Derek’s mother Queen Uberta shares how her life changed when she was crowned.
  12. The Swan Princess: Far Longer than Forever (2023) – Undercover shenanigans and pirates!

Along with the jewelry box, the gift set also includes a note from Seldon O. Young, talking about the franchise’s longevity and appreciating the fan support.

The physical release also has “fun sing-along special features” and it has been rated G and PG with an approximate run time of 969 minutes.
