Claws 2×9 Review: Til Death

Claws Season 2 Episode 9 Til Death Review

‘Til Death’ focused a lot on Polly. It has always been made obvious by Claws that Polly is a quirky character. However, her darker layers haven’t surfaced… until now. Carrie Preston pulled double-duty as she played both Polly and her twin sister Lillian. Seeing her impressive acting range made the episode for me.

I was provided a screener of ‘Til Death’ for review. The opinions are my own.

The previous episode showed Polly break up with Ken when she found out he was wearing a wire and recording conversations. ‘Til Death’ had Polly deal with Marnie leaving her, too. Of course, Polly’s abandonment issues kicked in and she experienced a psychotic break. It was obvious from the start Lillian wasn’t real. However, it was still fun to see Polly trying to avoid her imaginary twin sister.

Again, kudos to Carrie Preston for an amazing performance. Will Lillian appear again to haunt Polly? I am not sure. But for now, I think Polly got some closure when she told the truth about Lillian’s death to Desna.

As for the rest of the episode, Desna and her crew got ready for her fake wedding. With the finale airing this Sunday, I can’t wait to see how the second season ends. Will Zlata kill Gregory? At this point, I have no idea. Zlata isn’t a sane character. She is also only loyal to herself. And with Desna deciding to stop working for Zlata after opening three more clinics, the Russian mobstress might do something to stop Desna from leaving.

I also liked seeing Desna accept being a criminal in ‘Til Death’ and thinking of a plan after knowing how many properties Gregory owns. Desna can’t leave her criminal life behind, and frankly, the show wouldn’t be the same if she does. So, I am happy about her owning who she is and being the boss we all know she can be.

Some thoughts and questions

  • Even though Roller and Uncle Daddy gave Bryce money for a new house, I don’t think he will be able to leave them.
  • I don’t want Desna and Roller to be a couple. She deserves someone much better.
  • Is anyone sad about Hank being killed by Bryce?
  • Virginia is such an amazing finance to Dean.
  • The entire scene featuring Desna and her crew trying out clothes and Madame wanting her to wear the dress she selected was awesome.
