Welcome to today’s TheGeekiary News Briefs, where we’ll be sharing the new trailer for Resident Evil: Vendetta, information about new Naruto and One-Punch Man collectibles, the release date for Don’t Knock Twice, and more!
A new trailer for Resident Evil: Vendetta has been released. It features dialogue in English. The film will be released in Japan on May 27, 2017. It stars Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, and the original zombie survivor, Rebecca Chambers.
Speaking of zombies, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series “A New Frontier” debuted with a two-episode premiere this week. Make sure to enter our Steam/PC Season Pass Giveaway if you want to play it, too.
Award-winning indie studio My Dog Zorro’s upcoming minimalist puzzle game Linelight will arrive on Steam, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in the first quarter of 2017. I’m not sure what to make of the game yet, but the trailer looks very promising.
Image Comics will be participating in Free Comic Book Day 2017 with two titles. “I HATE IMAGE COMICS” by Skottie Young will be the Gold Level free comic book. “KID SAVAGE” by Joe Kelly and Ilya will be the Silver Level free comic book. Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, May 6th, 2017 at participating comic book shops worldwide.
Horror film Don’t Knock Twice has received a 3rd February, 2017, release date for theatres, VOD, and HD Digital. The film has gained good reviews, so I’m looking forward to it. Here’s the official synopsis along with the international trailer:
“Knock once to wake her from her bed, twice to raise her from the dead…” So goes a disturbing urban legend involving an abandoned house supposedly inhabited by a vengeful, child-stealing witch. When troubled teen Chloe (Lucy Boynton) raps at the door one night, she has no idea the horror she’s about to unleash. Fleeing to the country home of her estranged mother (Katee Sackhoff)-a recovering addict who’s turned her life around to become a famous artist-Chloe must learn to trust the woman who gave her up years ago in order to stop the bloodthirsty, shape-shifting demon stalking them. This wild supernatural shocker delivers a barrage of nonstop jolts and searing nightmare images.”
Good news for anime merchandise collectors. Viz Media has partnered with Funko and ThreeZero to expand the hit manga and anime One-Punch Man property. Funko will be bringing One-Punch Man to its Pop! Vinyl and Dorbz lines. It will also be developing a Mystery Mini (Blind Box) release as well as other items. Hong Kong’s ThreeZero will be creating a high-end 1/6 scale Saitama figure. A figure of Genos is in development. The Saitama figure is currently available in standard as well as a special variant.
Viz Media is also expanding the Naruto property by patterning with McFarlane Toys, Zag Toys, and CTC Food International. The new products are set for a 2017 release. McFarlane Toys is creating Naruto Shippuden figures, Zag Toys will create Original Mini’s Domez 2.5” Collectible Figures, and CTC Food International will make the Naruto Shippuden Instant Ramen, Ramune Soft Drinks, and Do-It-Yourself Candies.
