88 Captain America: Civil War Pop-Up Stores Opening in Movie Theaters
Are you planning on going to see Captain America: Civil War this weekend? Well, here’s some exciting news: The Araca Group, DCPI, and Marvel Entertainment have combined forces to sell unique merchandise in Captain America: Civil War pop-up stores, which will open in movie theaters beginning May 6th.
While they haven’t announced how long these Captain America: Civil War pop-up stores will remain open, we do know that the special products will include items such as a collectable Commemorative Ticket (in a ceramic holder!) and a “Tour T-Shirt”, along with limited-time merchandise with the theme “The Battle Begins”. The full list of cities can be found on The Battle Begins website, and I’m very pleasantly surprised to see that not only are they going to be appearing in many larger cities (L.A., New York, Las Vegas, and of course Orlando), there are some smaller cities included as well – my very own Greenville, South Carolina, as well as Augusta, Georgia, Knoxville, Tennessee, and more.
And when I mentioned “unique merchandise”, I really meant it. All of the Captain America: Civil War pop-up stores will have products for both Captain America and Iron Man’s teams, and it will feature unique artwork released specifically for the stores, and they promise that “Marvel fans of all ages will find something for them from a variety of fashion forward t-shirts, custom sweatshirts, hats and more.”
I have to be honest, I was going to wait until after opening weekend to avoid the major crowds for this movie, but this news has me doing a complete 180 on that decision. Michael Rego, Cheif Executive Officer of The Araca Group, explained that they “aim to expand the movie going experience by bringing fans unexpected products in a unique shopping experience”, and as a huge Cap fan myself, I simply can’t pass up this opportunity. How about you? Will you be able to make it to one of the 88 Captain America: Civil War pop-up stores? And even more importantly…who’s it gonna be, Captain America or Iron Man? I guess we’ll find out in a just a couple of days!
