Tara Lynne’s Geekiary Gift Guide
Let’s be honest – a lot of websites do gift guides. But I’m going to go ahead and claim that this one is the best because I’m creating it. And because the vast majority of the items on this list are actually, um, affordable…and not necessarily something you would just stumble upon on ThinkGeek or the HBO Store website. Not that I have anything against either of them – trust me, they’ve received more of my money than should be possible – but because I am a big proponent of supporting the “little guy” (quotes because none of the artists featured in this guide should be considered little; they’re all amazing). Yes, a lot of my suggestions here are guided by personal preference…but hey, I had fun putting this list together, and I completely support every artist/website/shop/experience I’m listing 🙂 So without further ado…
A perfect print for any Jurassic Park fan.
Find it on GreaterGeek’s Etsy Shop…along with tons of other awesome prints!
A keychain that serves as a great reminder…and is also cute…
craftylikeamonkey knows how to pair a great quote with the right charm for the perfect keychain
Knit scarves for several Song of Ice & Fire/Game of Thrones houses – but most importantly, House Martell.
SweetheartStitches Etsy Shop is outstanding, and I love that these scarves feature the House words. (From personal experience)
The sweetest Wicked friendship necklaces.
Check out WithLoveFromOC’s Offerings!
Speaking of friendship jewelry…how about a reminder that your BFF is also your zombie apocalypse buddy?
For reference, PickMyPick can customize a lot of things on their awesome bracelets.
Gorgeous Star Wars serving platters – especially the Millennium Falcon.
WoodByHandLLC may not be the most inexpensive shop on this list, but they’re definitely one of the most amazing.
Superb Deathly Hallows earrings for all those Harry Potter fans.
BadWolfCosplay is well known at Dragon Con and these earrings are just one of their amazing items on their Etsy shop!
The coolest Zelda clock on the market.
Clocks aren’t the only awesome nerdy items you can find in NerdyVille’s Etsy shop.
Eye shadows for every Mad Max: Fury Road lover.
This is just the “We are not things” shadow, but I highly suggest buying the entire Fury Road palate from Geek Chic Cosmetics. Their products are high quality, beautiful, and worth every penny.
For the notebook lover in your life…who also appreciates Battlestar Galactica, of course…
For the record, SpaceGoblin has TWO Battlestar-inspired notebooks, and they both look awesome.
Real or not real? Sometimes we all need to be reminded.
FabulousStamping has a lot of fandom rings, but this one – with its reminder that things are “real” on the inside – is one of the best.
Pleasant roll-on perfume for anyone who wants to smell like a rich Englishman.
GeekMarket offers everything from perfumes to soaps to jewelry, and this roll-on perfume themed after Jane Austen’s infamous Mr. Darcy will leave you – and anyone who can smell you – swooning.
HAIL HYDRYA!…in Game of Thrones style? Who could say no to this?
Where the Gods Live makes tons of amazing drinking horns…Thor, Game of Thrones, generic Viking-themed designs, and more!
Sorry not sorry but Toothless/Stitch is an amazing Fandom Mashup.
And what about a Castiel-themed candle?
Fandlemonium features this and other Supernatural candles…plus more from Dr. Who, Peter Pan, Nightmare Before Christmas, and more!
It’s almost winter – the Hunger Games fan in your life needs this amazingly comfortable cowl!
Chapalapalinski on Ebay has one of the more affordable and still pretty accurate versions of this beautiful, comfortable piece inspired by Catching Fire.
Everyone needs a flask…why not one designed for luck?
HarmlessHabit has a lot of great stuff (my Hufflepuff flask from this shop is one of my favorite things ever)…but who doesn’t want a gorgeous flask filled with liquid luck?
Classy Star Wars attire – shirts and socks galore!
Ian Leino Graphic Design offers a ton of amazing fandom meshing designs, but this is one of their best. You can buy Tie Fighter Argyle shirts OR socks, and really, why wouldn’t you?
A sweet pink whale for all those Steven Universe fans who need a pick-me-up…
I mean really, who wouldn’t want their own little pink whale? Check out CraftChampion’s Etsy shop for this and more awesome crocheted items!
And last but not least…the ULTIMATE Song of Ice & Fire/Game of Thrones Getaway…
Ice & Fire Con is also known as “Camp for Game of Thrones fans”; the fourth annual Ice & Fire Con will take place April 22-24 at Mountain Lake Lodge in Pembroke, VA
Buy tickets – or contact the organizers at iceandfirecon@gmail.com for package details (packages start at $400 for two people for two nights; price depends on availability)
Please note that either myself or other Geekiary staff members have purchased from several of these shops and can vouch for their product quality and service. The ones we have not purchased from were *mostly* sourced from The Geekiary’s “Stuff We Want” Pinterest board. The only thing listed here that I am directly involved with is Ice & Fire Con, and you can read my convention reports from 2014 and 2015 on this website. Neither The Geekiary nor myself were given ANY compensation for the recommendations in this gift guide.
