Spin Master Releases New “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” Movie Toys!
Fans eagerly awaiting the debut of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom this December have a new line of toys to look at. Courtesy of Spin Master, the movie-inspired toys include a 12-inch Aquaman action figure as well as a battle set featuring Aquaman and Black Manta.
I have tested toys and collectibles from Spin Master before. So, I know the newly released Aquaman toyline will deliver when it comes to offering fans a lot of detail and fun playtime at an affordable price tag. For those interested, the current toyline is available online and at major retailers.
Let’s begin by talking about the 12-inch Double Strike Aquaman figure.
This particular figure will cost you MSRP $24.99. With Aquaman dressed in his Stealth Suit, this toy has 11 points of articulation. You can easily move his shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees for a variety of poses. Not only that but being a (somewhat) interactive toy, there’s a tab on Aquaman’s back that allows him to strike opponents with his light-up batons. It features unique sound effects and cool phrases from Aquman, including “It’s time for Atlantis to rise.”
It includes 3 AG13 batteries.
I do like the detail in his suit. Also, the resemblance to Momoa is there, including the cut on his left eyebrow. I also like how the batons seem to be made of water.
The Aquaman vs. Black Manta Battle Set
Available for MSRP: $32.99, this battle set includes a 12-inch submarine along with 4-inch figures of Aquaman and Black Manta. The submarine features cool lights and more than 10 sound effects. The cockpit opens for you to place any compatible 4-inch action figure inside. I do like the compatibility of the battle sets by Spin Master. In a way, you can create your own DCEU depending on the type of action figures and battle sets you have.
As for the mini-figures, they are well-detailed and come with points of articulation as well as Trident weapons for both Aquaman and Black Manta. You can move their heads, shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees.
It also includes 3 AG13 batteries.
Talking about the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom movie, the film picks up several years after the events of the first Aquaman film (released back in 2018). We see that Arthur Curry has become a father. However, danger strikes due to Black Manta still wanting to avenge his father’s death. Things escalate due to Black Manta using the power of the mythical Black Trident. With no other option left, Aquaman finds himself turning to his brother Orm to protect the world and his family.
The film has been directed by James Wan with the screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick.
Releasing on December 20, 2023, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is supposed to conclude the current long-running DCEU before James Gunn debuts his own cinematic universe.
The cast includes Jason Momoa, Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
