Trailer Released For Creepy Horror Movie “Never Let Go” Starring Halle Berry

The first official trailer for Never Let Go, an upcoming thriller horror movie starring Oscar-winner Halle Berry, has been released. The story deals with a mother trying to protect her two young sons from an ever-present demonic evil in the woods.

Directed by Alexandre Aja (Hills Have Eyes, Crawl) and co-written by Kevin Coughlin and Ryan Grassby, Never Let Go is set in a secluded forest with Berry’s character raising her a pair of young sons inside a cabin. The characters seem to be in a post-apocalyptic world. They can leave the cabin. However, they have to remain tethered to the cabin via rope. According to Berry’s character, a single touch without a rope around you is all it takes for the demonic entity to get to you.

With how such stories go, the trailer shows that one of the sons gets separated from the rope. He gets injured in the woods and the demonic presence reaches out to him. The experience leads to the brothers questioning everything their mother had told them about what exists in the woods and why they have to live the way they do.

From what I can tell, the sons will continue to question what they have been brought up to believe in and their “doubts” will likely lead to Berry’s character adapting severe measures. I think it will be interesting to see how far a mother will go to ensure the safety of her children.

I can understand how certain people might feel the trailer is giving A Quiet Place and The Village vibes. I personally don’t care about the inspiration behind certain movies and how “similar” they might end up being as long as they are entertaining.

There’s some snake and snake-like theming going on. So, I take it that the supernatural entity possesses the abilities of a snake? I’m guessing shapeshifting, rebirth (via skin shedding), and lying. Hmmm.

Along with Berry, the cast includes Percy Daggs IV and Anthony B. Jenkins as the two sons.

While the trailer only showed ‘Coming Soon’, Never Let Go is currently looking at a September 27, 2024, theatrical release. I will be watching.

With Berry’s spy action flick The Union with Mark Wahlberg debuting on Netflix come August 16, 2024, and her rumored cameo as Storm in the upcoming Deadpool 3: Deadpool and Wolverine on July 26, 2024, it’s gearing up to be a fun year for Berry fans.
