A Purr-fect Night at the Adult Swim Pirate Purrrty SDCC 2025 Recap

Ahoy, mateys! Last night I sailed into one of the most off the wall, hilariously chaotic ports of call San Diego Comic-Con has ever seen: the Adult Swim Pirate Purrrty. Set just outside the convention center, this offsite was a quirky carnival of everything Adult Swim does best. Strange, hilarious, and completely unforgettable.
From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a sea of inflatable madness, music playing from the main stage, and a cast of delightful workers who were great character actors (exactly the vibe Adult Swim thrives on). The first thing I had to check out was the “Smiling Friends” Break Room, a near-perfect recreation of the cartoon’s iconic set. It was surreal stepping into that world and grabbing some great pics on the set.

Just a hop away was the “Rick and Morty” Buttworld Bounce House…..a phrase I never thought I’d say, but welcome to SDCC. This inflatable monument to dimensional nonsense was both bizarre and brilliant. Fans will get to bounce around a few times and take some great photos.

The Adopt-a-Cuy Station, inspired by the upcoming show Women Wearing Shoulder Pads, where fans can “adopt” a plush Guinea Pig. You can decorate your Guinea Pig in the cutest of clothes and fill out an adoption form for them.

One of the more interactive surprises was the “Common Side Effects” Mushroom Hunt. It was a scavenger-style game where you had to find hidden mushrooms around a foam pit, and the reward will be an exclusive plushie.

Add in a dinosaur photo op, a pirate lookout tower, a football ring toss, and a giant inflatable slide, and you’ve got yourself an adult playground that would make any pirate proud.

But let me tell you the absolute highlight of my night was the Cat Jousting. My friend and I mounted inflatable felines (yes, you read that correctly) and spun in circles while trying to knock each other off with foam weapons. It was absurd, hilarious, and way more competitive than I’d like to admit.

The only thing I missed out on was the nightly DJ set, which hadn’t kicked off yet during my visit, but I hear the party continues all weekend long with live DJs spinning under the stars.
Bottom line? The Adult Swim Pirate Purrrty was weird in all the right ways. If you’re headed to SDCC this weekend, don’t miss it and make sure you try the cat jousting. It’s a memory (and probably a bruise) I’ll cherish forever.
