Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2026

2026 could go down as one of the best movie years of all time. With a wide slate of genre films, new IPs, and original stories, it is shaping up to be a huge year for the movie industry.
We wanted to highlight our 10 most anticipated movies, as well as a few others on our radar. In no particular order, we have!
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu
It has been six years since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released in the theaters. It has been six years since we, Star Wars fans, have been able to gather in a dark theater and watch our favorite galaxy from far, far away. Bringing Mando and Grogu to the big screen is a great financial move for Lucasfilm and Disney, seeing that they already have a huge following, but also the fans get to see the real star of Star Wars be cute on the biggest screen possible. Bring us all the Grogu you can give us.
The Odyssey

Let’s be fair, The Odyssey is a story that has been told hundreds of times over the years. But, in the hands of Christopher Nolan, we all took a moment to realize that this is going to be a modern film epic on a scale we haven’t seen from a swords and saddles movie in decades. Throw in the most amazing cast of the year, and this became the top movie on everyone’s list for 2026, us included.
Disclosure Day

Steven Spielberg doing an alien movie again? Yes, please! We had heard nothing about this film being made until the trailer dropped a few weeks ago. Although the trailer didn’t reveal much, it got everyone’s attention. Josh O’Connor, coming off an amazing performance in Wake Up Dead Man, and Emily Blunt, as the co-leads, would be enough for us to be at opening day. John Williams is doing the music! We are even more in.
Dune: Part Three

We are getting the on-screen story of Dune: Messiah that many of us thought we would never see. Denis Villeneuve has done the near impossible with the first two Dune films, and now he is finishing his version of the Frank Herbert novels that were deemed unfilmable by many, including Herbert.
Sci-Fi is our favorite genre of storytelling, so of course, we are excited for this conclusion. And it is to be believed that Timothee Chalamet is in the running for the Oscar this year, this could be a chance for him to go back-to-back wins as best actor.
Project Hail Mary

Project Hail Mary is one of my all-time favorite books. So, when it was announced that Lord and Miller were directing this Ryan Gosling-led adaptation, you know we were ready to stand in line to see this.
Rocky is everything! From the trailers, the visuals look amazing. So hyped. I don’t want to say anymore if you haven’t read the novel. The less you know, the more enjoyable the movie will be.
Supergirl

The new live-action Superman was a surprising story for us this last summer. He has always been a character I never connected with. But James Gunn’s Superman movie, with the story being about his humanity, really landed for me. Now, here comes something completely different with Supergirl. She, as a character, is broken, having witnessed the destruction of Krypton. Watching her spiral out of control will be interesting to watch. And Milly Alcock is going to melt everyone’s hearts.
28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

The 28 Days Later universe was something we enjoyed but never revisited. The gorilla filmmaking by Danny Boyle in the first one was part of its charm. So, when 28 Years Later came out, it was interesting to see why we were returning to this story.
28 Years Later expanded the story in ways we weren’t ready for, and The Bone Temple looks to do even more. I don’t typically like horror films, but these have been much more about humanity trying to survive than the monsters.
Peaky Blinder: The Immortal Man

The Peaky Blinders series is one of our all-time favorite shows. We would go re-watch it again right now. When they finished the series, it felt like a satisfying end to Tommy Shelby’s story, but not for this universe. But as the title implies, Tommy is the Immortal Man. His return to London, to possibly bring order back to the Peaky Blinders, is something we are ready to watch. And let’s not forget Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Ruth, and Barry Keoghan are making their way into the family.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day

After the events of No Way Home, we were all interested in what the next story would be for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. The upcoming Brand New Day seems to be much more about Spider-Man being our actual Friendly Neighborhood crime-fighter. There have been some leaks online that we are trying to dodge, but if even a few of them are true, we are in for an emotional roller coaster.
It also brings up more questions for the overall MCU, because of our final listing…
Avengers: Doomsday

Listen… If we are being honest, this is the movie we excited about the most. When Kevin Feige brought the Russo Brothers to the stage at San Diego Comic Con a few years back and announced they were pivoting away from Kang to Doom, we all lost our minds. Then, Robert Downey Jr. was announced as Doom!
What does this all mean for the overall MCU story? How does the face of Tony Stark returning affect Steve Rogers, Peter Parker, and the rest of the Avengers? Does this retcon Endgame? All of these questions, and more, have been asked by Marvel fans over the last two years. And we have to wait almost another year to get answers. We don’t care. We would buy tickets right now if we could. With each new teaser trailer they drop, we are getting more hyped. AND…. Here comes the X-Men!
A couple of other movies we are excited to see this year: Crime 101 with Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry, The Hunger Games: Sunrise of the Reaping, Greenland 2: Migration, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, Violent Night 2, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat 2, to name a few.
