Papercutz “The Mandalorian and Grogu: Danger in the Dark” One-Shot Gets July Debut

Fans excited about the upcoming live-action movie The Mandalorian and Grogu have a new one-shot featuring the titular characters, debuting on July 22, 2026.

From Mad Cave Studios and Papercutz, in collaboration with Lucasfilm Publishing, will be releasing The Mandalorian and Gorgu: Danger in the Dark one-shot graphic novel on July 22, 2026. The upcoming story, which is set just before the live-action film, will be the first-ever one-shot lead debut for Grogu and Din Djarin.

Written by Delilah S. Dawson (Star Wars Adventures, Star Wars: Forces of Destiny), with pencils and inks by Arianna Florean (Star Wars Adventures), layouts by Mario del Pennino, and artists including Brent Schoonover (Star Wars: Tales From The Outer Rim -The Legend of Beggar’s Canyon), Ramon Rosanas, Juni Ba, and more to be revealed, the story will have the duo tackle a hidden danger deep beneath the surface of Nevarro while being joined by a crew of Anzellan friends.

The adventure will have the main cast venturing into the city’s underground lava tubes to defuse a crashed pirate ship. Of course, they will have to face “creepy creatures” and a bunch of obstacles along the way. From my understanding, the narrative will pose personal challenges by questioning whether Gorgu can follow Din’s guidance in times of peril and by addressing the possible changes in the team’s dynamic as the Anzellans take the lead.

Meant for younger readers, the story will feature a balance of action, danger, humor, and heart.

The Mandalorian and Grogu: Danger in the Dark is currently available for preorder at your local comic shop and at papercutz.com.

As for the live-action film, The Mandalorian and Gorgu will land in theaters on May 22, 2026, starring Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin.
