Can’t Get Enough Lois Lane? She’s Coming Back to “Double Down”!
At BookExpo America in May, I got the chance to talk to author Gwenda Bond about her new YA series featuring a teenage Lois Lane. The first novel, Lois Lane: Fallout, is a fantastic read, and I was eager to hear Bond confirm that there would be more books in the series. At the time, she wasn’t able to do so, but today there is good news for all Lois Lane lovers: she will return in a sequel!
Switch Press announced today that Bond will be penning another book in what will hopefully be a long, ongoing series starring Lois. Lois Lane: Double Down is scheduled to be released in May of 2016.
From the press release:
DC Comics’ iconic character Lois Lane will be back for more in Lois Lane: Double Down, the second book in a new series from Switch Press, the Young Adult imprint of Capstone. Following the success of the first book in the series, Lois Lane: Fallout, author Gwenda Bond returns with a new story of the adventures of a teenage Lois Lane, as she begins to discover her passion for journalism and become the character loved by generations of fans.
In our interview, Bond talked about what she liked most about writing Lois:
She’s just the most fun character to write ever. The thing about writing Lois is that she wants something in every single scene. And it’s rarely about her. She’s very much always noticing and looking, seeing where things are wrong and could be improved and jumping in to try and fix things, even if it gets her in trouble. I think that’s a really appealing quality that a lot of us can relate to.
Are you guys as excited about this news as I am? There will never be enough stories featuring confident, capable young women, and I am absolutely thrilled that Switch Press was pleased enough with the reception of Fallout to give the go-ahead for more books in the series.
P.S. Have you gotten the chance to read Fallout yet? Make sure you take a look at our review!
