Pokemon: Detective Pikachu Gets Digital, 4K UHD, Blu-ray & DVD Release Dates!

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will be releasing Pokemon: Detective Pikachu on Digital come July 23, 2019. The 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD Special Edition release will follow on August 6, 2019. Of course, there will be extra content for fans to enjoy.

One of the most interesting things about the upcoming home release is that for a limited time only, the 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD Special Edition of Pokemon: Detective Pikachu will include a special Pokémon Trading Card Game card.

The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Detective Pikachu, Justice Smith as Tim and Kathryn Newton as Lucy. The supporting cast includes Suki Waterhouse, Omar Chaparro, Chris Geere, Rita Ora, Oscar nominee Ken Watanabe, and Bill Nighy.

Rob Letterman directed the film from a story by Dan Hernandez, Benji Samit, and Nicole Perlman. The screenplay was by Hernandez, Samit, Letterman and Derek Connolly.

Here’s the official synopsis:

When detective Harry Goodman goes missing, his son Tim (Justice Smith) and Harry’s former Pokémon partner Detective Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) join forces to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together on an epic adventure through Ryme City, they uncover a shocking plot that could destroy the whole Pokémon universe.
