Animal Kingdom 4×8 Review: Ambo
“Ambo” showed the Codys pulling a job and of course, things went wrong because of some of the drama Joshua is in. With only a handful of episodes left, I can’t wait to see how this season ends.
I was provided a free screener of “Ambo” for review. The opinions are my own.
The Codys finally stole from the event Olivia’s mother was managing. There were a few hiccups but our leads were able to keep everything on track. I wonder if Olivia will suspect Joshua’s involvement. Maybe she won’t care even if she does find out about him being a thief? Joshua still has eyes for a very rich classmate he wants to steal from. So, I think Olivia will continue to appear.
Being a fan of Mia, I was disappointed to see her fate in “Ambo.” She seemed like a smart and ruthless character to me. That’s why I didn’t like her being killed off by Joshua. Some viewers believe she’s still alive. However, I don’t think we’ll be seeing her anymore.
Having said that, if she’s revealed to be alive, I wouldn’t complain. Mia knew a lot about Joshua. She could have used her knowledge to get Smurf and the other Codys to turn on him. Mia’s potential was wasted because she decided to side with Tupi. Sigh!
As for the rest of the characters, we saw Craig trying to deal with his maternal side. It made sense for Craig to want a baby. I hope he finds some kind of happiness. He can’t just party his life away.
Pope continued to grow closer to Angela. I don’t trust her one bit!
We didn’t get a lot of Adrian and Deran in “Ambo,” but we did see Deran trying to figure out how to help his surfer boyfriend. Basically, Deran is going to try and blackmail Livingood. I’m not sure if such a tactic will work, but I’m here for Deran and Adrian doing anything possible to stay together. Also, the scene where Deran lied to Adrian about being a murderer was intense.
I greatly enjoyed “Ambo” because of the young Smurf-centric moments. The way she figured out where Pam lived was smart. It was interesting to see Pam give Smurf advice about having kids (Smurf is pregnant) and making a family. In a way, Smurf took on Pam’s mannerisms to manipulate men (including her children). The interaction between her and Pam was well-written. I want more!
